Diablo 4 launched last summer to rave reviews and great sales numbers. In the months that followed, the developers at Blizzard have launched four seasons full of new content for players to dive into, though the results have not always been up to expectations. With Diablo 4's first anniversary coming up soon, the team has announced a top-part event that's set to kick off later this month. And Diablo Immortal fans will also be able to get in on the fun as the developers are celebrating the mobile game's second anniversary alongside the D4 event.

Diablo 4 First Anniversary Details

Blizzard's first-anniversary event is called the March of the Goblins. From June 6th to the 13th, players will notice an influx of Treasure Goblins in Diablo 4. That, of course, means players will have the chance to jump in and farm a ton of loot, especially in Dungeons where rumors claim players will be running into packs of Treasure Goblins. Additionally, players can head into the Shop and claim several free gifts, including two new mount cosmetics and several weapon skins.

On top of the cosmetics and Treasure Goblins, players will also enjoy another round of the Mother's Blessing. If you haven't participated in previous events, this boon gives players a boost to both Experience and Gold rates, making it an excellent time to level up seasonal characters. Remember, these boosts are multiplicative, which means you can bump those boosts up even further to start flying through levels.

Diablo Immortal March of the Goblins

The Diablo Immortal version of the March of the Goblins also kicks off on June 6th and runs through June 20th. This is the second anniversary of the mobile game, and players can earn a ton of rewards throughout the event. Players will also be able to take on challenges like the Trial of Plunder and the Gold-Cursed Goliath boss fight. Of course, those tough fights will also pay out with big rewards if you're able to take them down, so it's definitely worth logging in and testing your mettle.

Diablo 4 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Diablo Immortal is available on mobile devices. Remember, the anniversary events kick off on June 6th and you'll have until June 20th to claim all the rewards and take on the many challenges.

Ghost of Tsushima Movie Reportedly Looking to Cast Shogun's Hiroyuki Sanada https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ghost-of-tsushima-movie-hiroyuki-sanada-report/ Mon, 03 Jun 2024 00:41:00 +0000 Logan Moore 1a5d6786-1cc6-4fd1-9cdd-2253e9ba2359

PlayStation's movie adaptation of the video game Ghost of Tsushima may have found its first cast member in Shogun star Hiroyuki Sanada. Back in 2021, PlayStation Productions first announced that it had partnered with John Wick series director Chad Stahelski to create a film iteration of Ghost of Tsushima. Since then, no other major announcements tied to the project have come about, which has left fans with more questions than answers. Fortunately, it sounds as though the movie's development has progressed far enough to where it might now begin casting starting with Sanada.

According to @DanielRPK, Hiroyuki Sanda is currently in talks to star in Ghost of Tsushima. For the time being, it's not known which role Sanda would play in the movie, but many fans have already found him to have a number of similarities to the character Lord Shimura. In the Ghost of Tsushima game, Shimura is the uncle of the main protagonist, Jin Sakai, and ends up playing a pivotal part in the events of its story.

One reason why Sanda's potential casting in Ghost of Tsushima makes a lot of sense is because he has previously worked with director Chad Stahelski. Specifically, Sanada starred in 2023's John Wick 4, which was his most recent role on the big screen. With Stahelski in charge of the Ghost of Tsushima movie, it makes sense that he would potentially want to work with Sanada once again given how well their previous collaboration went.

In the near term, Sanada is set to reprise his role as Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 2, which is poised to hit theaters in 2025. This year, Sanada received widespread acclaim for playing Lord Yoshii Toranaga in FX's Shogun. Following the success of Shogun, FX went on to greenlight two additional seasons of the historical drama, but whether or not Sanada will return in any of these episodes isn't known.

For now, PlayStation Productions has provided no release window for the Ghost of Tsushima movie. If Sanada does become attached to the film soon, though, there's a good chance we'll start to learn more about when filming might begin. A video game sequel to Ghost of Tsushima is also widely expected to be in development, although developer Sucker Punch Productions has yet to confirm as much.

Palworld Community Manager Reveals "Favorite Part" of Upcoming Summer Update https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/palworld-summer-update-frog-pals-xbox-pc/ Mon, 03 Jun 2024 00:37:00 +0000 Ricky Frech 9441a470-523a-4596-b9cc-45d72aae36ff

Over the last few weeks, the developers at Pocketpair have been teasing its fans about the massive update coming to Palworld this summer. We know that the team plans to reveal the update in full at Summer Game Fest next week, but that hasn't stopped the team from giving fans a few extra hints to keep the hype as high as possible. Recently, one of the team's community managers posted a new clip to Twitter, showing off one of the cutest parts of the upcoming update. While not as exciting as some of the other features, it's sure to be a hit with Palworld fans all over.

Palworld Devs "Leak" Cute New Pals

palworld-tocotoco.jpg

The new tease was posted by Pocketpair community manager Bucky on their Twitter page. There, they highlighted their "favorite part" of the update. It's a little thing, but the teaser shows the player character hanging out with the new frog Pals we've seen teased in previous updates. However, in this clip, we see the frogs lounging in a pond. Bucky claims the frogs are sleeping, though some players have noticed that they look like they might've been knocked out or worse. Either way, seeing the little frogs rolling around like beachballs is undeniably one of the cuter things we've seen in Palworld.

Of course, that's not all that's coming in the massive summer update. We already know that at least four new Pals are coming, including the frog. There's also the possibility that we're getting a few new variations on old Pals, but that hasn't been completely confirmed by Pocketpair. The devs also claimed it's revealing a few "long-awaited features" at the reveal this week, but unfortunately, that won't include the promised PvP Arena. We know that feature is slated to launch this year, it just won't be ready for the summer update. Instead, players should expect to see that later this year, most likely in the fall.

Summer Game Fest kicks off on June 7th at 5pm ET. The conference is scheduled to run for two hours and SGF is partnering with more than 55 companies. Expect a ton of announcements in addition to the Palworld update. For example, companies like 2K Games, Sega, and Capcom will be at the show. Several of them are sure to have major announcements ready for fans.

Palworld is available now on Xbox and PC platforms via early access.

Wizards of the Coast Responds After Making AI-Related Job Posting; "Our Stance on AI Hasn't Changed" https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/wizards-of-the-coast-ai-engineer-job-posting-response/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 23:47:00 +0000 Christian Hoffer e8967e7b-2f42-48f2-a4c7-a3ec33356711

Wizards of the Coast has responded after tabletop enthusiasts discovered a job posting related to generative AI on their webpage. Over the weekend, Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering enthusiasts expressed dismay and outrage over a job listing for a "Principal AI Engineer" posted in early May. The job post asks for "proven experience with AI/ML systems in at least one of the following areas: simulation, asset creation, and generative content" and also states that the AI engineer would be responsible for designing, building and deploying systems "for intelligent generation of text dialog, audio, art assets, NPC behaviors, and real time bot frameworks."

However, while many were quick to assume that Wizards of the Coast was exploring AI development in their core tabletop games, Wizards told ComicBook that the job description was related to future video game projects, which is a growing part of the Hasbro subsidiary. "Our stance on AI hasn't changed," Wizards of the Coast told ComicBook. "This job description is for a role for future video game projects. You can reference our AI FAQ here." Wizards has started several game studios in the past five years that are developing a number of AAA video games, including the recently announced Exodus.

Both the Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering teams have been clear that art made with generative AI projects are not to be used by freelance illustrators and writers working on products for their company. Additionally, Wizards has made a series of statements stating that the games are built on the "innovation, ingenuity, and hard work of talented people" and not generative AI. However, Wizards has faced several AI-related controversies, with one artist admitting to using generative AI in pieces submitted for Bigby's Presents: Glory of the Giants and Magic: The Gathering's marketing team using images that featured AI-generated backgrounds. Wizards has moved quickly when confronted on both controversies - they immediately commissioned new artwork to replace the AI-affected pieces in Bigby's Presents: Glory of the Giants, and they also pulled the AI-generated Magic: The Gathering marketing images and apologized (although the company initially said that the pieces were created by people).

Although the D&D and Magic brand teams have remained resolute that their games would be made by humans, upper management has been far more open about the prospect of AI. Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks (who previously was the president of Wizards of the Coast before his promotion) referred to D&D's fifty years of adventures and Magic: The Gathering's deep catalog of artwork as potential sources for AI learning databases in a recent interview, stating that "Wizards can leverage [existing D&D and Magic products] to be able to build very interesting and compelling use cases for AI that can bring our characters to life. We can build tools that aid in content creation for users or create really interesting gamified scenarios around them." Cocks said in the same interview that he uses AI-generated artwork in his home game and uses ChatGPT to aid in adventure creation.

Wizards' parent company Hasbro also uses AI in several tabletop products, including AI-generated questions for its online Trivial Pursuit Infinite and an AI-powered Oujia board.

New PS2 Games Are Finally Coming to PS5 and PS4 https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/playstation-ps2-games-ps5-ps4-new/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 22:46:00 +0000 Logan Moore 3e9e5485-f4c2-45d8-bfc8-24ffc2a0eb4a

Sony has announced that it will finally be bringing more games from the PlayStation 2 library forward to make them accessible on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Back in 2022, Sony overhauled its PlayStation Plus subscription service in a big way. In doing so, it introduced a new tier called PS Plus Premium, which featured "classic" games from older PlayStation platforms. Since then, Sony has continued to release titles from legacy platforms onto PS Plus (and the PlayStation Store), but the PS2 has notably been left out. Fortunately, this isn't going to hold true for much longer as Sony is now bringing PS2 games to current hardware after many requests from fans.

As of this month, Sony will be bringing its first wave of PS2 games to PlayStation Plus. Set to go live on June 11th, this initial lineup of PS2 titles will feature Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, and Tomb Raider Legend. All three of these games will be available to download and play at no cost for those who have a PS Plus Premium membership. Assumedly, this trio of PS2 titles should be able to be purchased on their own via the PS Store as well. Each is also likely to contain new graphical features and trophies in their jump to modern platforms as well.

ps-blog-ps-plus.jpg
(Photo: PlayStation Blog)

Moving forward, it's likely that Sony should start to bring over more PS2 games of this type to PS Plus. Over the past couple of years, the PS1 and PSP have likely been the two biggest libraries that Sony has pulled from when it comes to adding to PS Plus Premium. As a result, the PS2 catalog is still rife with many games that fans would love to see become more widely accessible on current PlayStation hardware. Whether or not your own favorite hits PS5 or PS4 soon remains to be seen, but it's still good to see that Sony is now beginning this process.

How do you feel about seeing more PS2 games make their way to current PlayStation consoles? And are there any specific games from the PS2 that you'd like to see arrive sooner rather than later? Be sure to let me know for yourself over on X at @MooreMan12.

Lethal Company Developer Reveals Release Date of Next Update https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/lethal-company-developer-update-55-release-date-pc/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 21:57:00 +0000 Ricky Frech f18a0971-e6c9-4046-86f4-9be1271a2c61

Since developer Zeekerss released the Version 50 update in Lethal Company, players have been patiently waiting to see what's next. It's been almost two months since The Hopping Update, and today, Zeekerss revealed that Update 55 is on the way. Of course, they're keeping things relatively mysterious, as most new Lethal Company updates are before they launch, but we did get a few key pieces of new information. Not only was the release date for Update 55 announced, but Zeekerss revealed that players will be able to pick up the new Company Cruiser to make getting around much quicker.

Lethal Company Version 55 Update Release Date

The next Lethal Company update is set for June 25th. However, the trailer says that it might come sooner, so you'll want to keep an eye out on the game's official social media channels. Either way, it should be out by the end of the month unless something drastic happens in the background. As far as what's coming with the new update, all we know for now is that players can pick up a Company Cruiser.

We don't know the specifics of how the new car will work, but the trailer did show it moving quickly throughout the world, so it should help players move their loot from one place to the next. It's worth noting that this is likely only one aspect of the update and much more will be revealed when the update is live. Players also noticed characters carrying more gear than usual, potentially hinting at new animations to balance around the car. That said, we'll have to wait and see what all the new update brings to Lethal Company when it launches later this month. While you wait for it to drop, you might want to jump into Fortnite to pick up the new Lethal Company skin.

Lethal Company x Fortnite Crossover

With the launch of Chapter 5, Season 3 in Fortnite, the team at Epic partnered with the Lethal Company team to bring a new collab into the battle royale. As with most new crossovers in Fortnite, the only way to pick up the new skin is to head to the Item Shop and spend some V-Bucks. If you want to get everything, you'll need to spend 2,100 V-Bucks, but you can also pick up The Employee skin for only 1,500 V-Bucks. The cosmetics will be available in the Item Shop until June 8th.

Lethal Company is available now on PC. Remember, the Version 55 update launches on June 25th or earlier.

Ghost of Tsushima Rumor Adds to Sequel Speculation https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ghost-of-tsushima-2-rumor-sequel-speculation-ps5/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 20:59:00 +0000 Marc Deschamps 10044eae-c62b-4425-8ad4-6da1ccafd55d

For months now, rumors have been circulating about a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. While last month's PlayStation State of Play came and went without any kind of mention of Ghost of Tsushima 2, it seems the rumor just won't die. This time around, the source is Daniel Richtman (also known as DanielRPK). Richtman posted about the sequel on his Patreon page stating pretty definitively that he "can confirm a Ghost of Tsushima sequel is in the works." Readers should always take rumors with a grain of salt, but Richtman does have a good track record, and he seems to be pretty confident about the call.

Why Ghost of Tsushima 2 Is a Safe Bet

Unfortunately, Richtman does not elaborate on when the game might be released, or even just get an announcement from PlayStation. It's been four years since the first game was released on PS4, and the PC version came out last month. Since then, there's been no word on what developer Sucker Punch Productions has been up to, which is one of several reasons that a sequel seems pretty obvious. Development on Ghost of Tsushima took about 6 years, but it's impossible to say how long it'll be before we get a sequel. Sequels tend to take less time to make than a wholly original game, but we don't know how much of Sucker Punch's time was devoted to things like the Legends multiplayer mode, or to the PS5 version.

The original Ghost of Tsushima was very successful from both a critical and commercial standpoint. A live-action adaptation is currently in development, which is another reason that a sequel is basically guaranteed. PlayStation clearly sees Ghost of Tsushima as a potential franchise, and the company has spent the last four years finding ways to build awareness around the game and protagonist Jin Sakai; Sakai actually appears in the intro animation for PlayStation Productions, where he appeared on the big screen alongside some of PlayStation's biggest characters.

How Long Until We Learn What Sucker Punch is Developing?

With all of these leaks and rumors over the last few months, it would be genuinely shocking if Sucker Punch turned out to be working on something else entirely. At this point, it really does seem more of a question of "when" it will get revealed, as opposed to "if." Hopefully the silence that has surrounded the game means that there will be a shorter wait between announcement and release compared to PlayStation first-party games like Marvel's Wolverine.

Pokemon TCG Officially Reveals New Kind of Tera EX Pokemon Card https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/pokemon-tcg-stellar-tera-pokemon-card/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 20:38:00 +0000 Christian Hoffer 387cb973-45bf-4aa1-949c-790d3457ae17

A new kind of Pokemon card is coming to the Pokemon Trading Card Game. Today, The Pokemon Company formally announced Stellar Miracle, a new Japanese set of cards due out for release in July. This new set features Terapagos, the Legendary Pokemon at the heart of the Terastallization process, and also introduces a new kind of Tera ex Pokemon card. The new Stellar Tera card will have abilities and moves that require three kinds of energy to activate. The Pokemon are considered Colorless and have no specific label that allows players to target them. Like other Tera ex cards, Stellar Tera Pokemon don't take damage while on the bench and also award players two prizes when they're Knocked Out. The cards will also feature an alternate card treatment from other Pokemon ex cards.

The reveal confirms a leak from several months ago, which showed several alleged Stellar Tera ex Pokemon cards. No international release date has been announced, but they will likely be tied to a fall 2024 release in North America, Europe, and other international markets. Interestingly, the reveal and release for July 2024 in Japan likely means that another new mechanic will be introduced to the Pokemon Trading Card Game in August at the World Championships.

The Pokemon Trading Card Game recently released Twilight Masquerade, a new set featuring Ogerpon from the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC. A special set, titled Shrouded Fable, will bring in Pecharunt into the trading card game and bring the Kitikami region's storyline to a close. Interestingly, with the Pokemon Trading Card Game moving so quickly through the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, there could be a gap before the game can introduce elements from Pokemon Legends: ZA, the newest Pokemon game set to be released sometime in 2025.

Marvel's Midnight Suns Will Reportedly Be Completely Free Soon https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/marvel-midnight-suns-free-report/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 20:26:00 +0000 Logan Moore bc343a27-2d83-4f49-90f0-05b492f59c6a

If you've been holding off on picking up Marvel's Midnight Suns, it seems that your patience could soon pay off. Since its launch back at the end of 2022, the Marvel strategy title from Firaxis and 2K Games has slowly seen its price get lowered across all platforms. Now, a new deal that hasn't been formally announced just yet could bring Midnight Suns to its lowest value so far, which would result in it being given away for nothing.

According to Dealabs, Marvel's Midnight Suns is planned to go free beginning later this week. Specifically, the title is set to be given away as the weekly free title on the Epic Games Store. As a result, it will only be free on this platform for PC and won't be widely free across all avenues. If this report is true, it would mean that Midnight Suns would become downloadable for free beginning on June 6 and would remain live until June 13. Anyone who snags the game over this span of time will then be able to continue owning it in perpetuity in their EGS library.

Generally speaking, Marvel's Midnight Suns didn't become as big as 2K Games had hoped it would as the title missed its sales expectations by quite a bit. Despite not reaching these monetary goals, Midnight Suns has been quite well-received by just about everyone that has played it. As such, this will be a pretty great edition to the Epic Games Store's free rotation, assuming it does indeed join that slate in the coming days.

If you're curious to learn more about Marvel's Midnight Suns, you can check out more of the game via its official trailer and synopsis attached below.

"Marvel's Midnight Suns is the ultimate crossover event combining the rich story, character relationships, customization and progression of an RPG with the tactical strategy and combat mechanics of a revolutionary new card-based tactics game. Set in the darker side of the Marvel Universe, you will forge unbreakable bonds with legendary Marvel Super Heroes and dangerous supernatural warriors in the fight against the world's greatest threat yet...the demonic forces of Lilith and the elder god Chthon.

From the creators of the critically-acclaimed tactical XCOM series comes an engaging and deeply customizable card-based battle system that rewards clever thinking with Super Hero flair. Deploy a squad of Super Heroes on tactical turn-based missions to thwart the forces of evil. Use your environment, move around the battlefield lining up the perfect shot or combo, and then launch devastating hero abilities to gain the advantage in each epic encounter. The combat leverages the best elements from tactical games and card-based combat in a truly unique and thrilling experience."

EA Sports FC 24: Best Players for Ultimate Attack Evolution https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ea-sports-fc-24-best-players-ultimate-attack-evolution-ps5-xbox-pc/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 20:17:00 +0000 Ricky Frech f42d6827-e796-4629-a69f-04691a30ecad

Developer Electronic Arts is starting to wrap up its annual Team of the Season promo in EA Sports FC 24. Recently, the team dropped the Ultimate TOTS team into Ultimate Team packs, giving players an increased opportunity to grab many of the best cards in the game. However, even with the better odds, those cards are difficult to pack, so EA Sports FC 24 is continuing to release new Evolutions that players can use to boost low-rated cards. Below, you'll find a full breakdown of the new Ultimate Attack Evolution and a list of the best cards to use it on in EA Sports FC 24.

What is the EAFC 24 Ultimate Attack Evolution?

ea-sports-fc-24-1.png

Fortunately, this Evolution is free to start. Even if you don't have a card you want to use it on, it's worth working through it for free, high-rated fodder. Here are the requirements you'll need to keep in mind:

  • Max Overall: 86
  • Position: LW
  • Max Total Positions: 3
  • Max PlayStyles: 7
  • Max PlayStyles+: 1

Once you finish all of the Objectives, you'll earn +7 Overall, +7 Pace, +9 Shooting, +6 Passing, +j7 Dribbling, +7 Physical, the Striker position, the Flair, Trivela, and Aerial PlayStyles, and the Power Shot and Technical PlayStyles+.

The Best Players for the Ultimate Attack Evolution

Thankfully, because of the low max overall, there are several cheap options for this Evolution. Here are the best options for our money:

  • Ousmane Dembele - PSG
  • Marcus Rashford - Manchester United
  • Luis Diaz - Liverpool
  • Gabriel Martinelli - Arsenal
  • Alejandro Gomez - Sevilla

As you'd expect, all of these players ply their trade on the wings by nature. Dembele, Martinelli, and Diaz all bring top-end pace, silky smooth dribbling, and the coveted 5-star/5-star Weak Foot and Skill Moves combo. Their shooting might let you down ever so slightly in front of the net, but it's probably not going to be a problem often enough to matter.

Rashford doesn't get a five-star Weak Foot from the Evolution, but he is a better shooter than the other wingers, making him a bit more attractive as a striker. Finally, Gomez isn't going to be as good as the other four players, but he is a classic EA FC player, so we'll take any chance we can get to boost him.

EA Sports FC 24 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. The Ultimate Attack Evolution expires on June 29th.

Monster Hunter Stories on Switch Won't Include Previous Nintendo Exclusive DLC https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/monster-hunter-stories-nintendo-switch-zelda-dlc/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 19:46:00 +0000 Marc Deschamps c5c23368-acf5-45b7-bdbb-649f916b8b8a

The original Monster Hunter Stories will be coming to new platforms this month, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC. This new version will feature several improvements over the one that first appeared on 3DS, but Nintendo fans might want to hang on to their original copy. In an interview with Nintendo Life, Monster Hunter Stories producer Yoshihiro Akira confirmed that "collaboration contents from outside Capcom will not be carried over into this release." This means that the game's DLC based on The Legend of Zelda franchise will remain locked to 3DS.

For those unfamiliar with the collaboration, it allowed the player to wear Link's iconic green tunic, while Navirou could wear Majora's Mask. Players could also get a Monstie of Epona, which had a unique Kinship Skill called Triforce Gallop. Unfortunately, since the 3DS eShop closed last year, there's basically no way of getting that content. It's not surprising that the Zelda content won't be available on PS4 or Steam, but it is disappointing that Capcom won't make it available as a Switch exclusive.

Nintendo Collaborations

The Zelda collaboration from Monster Hunter Stories came at a time when Nintendo was offering crossover content in a lot of third-party games. In addition to Monster Hunter Stories, Zelda DLC also appeared in games like Monster Hunter Generations and Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water. Like Monster Hunter Stories, the Switch version of Maiden of Black Water also dropped its Nintendo exclusive content. It's not clear if these decisions were made by Nintendo, or if companies like Capcom and Koei Tecmo were behind it.

Whatever the case might be, it's sad to see this type of content abandoned. The reality is, a lot more people own a Nintendo Switch now than owned a 3DS, and bringing this content back would give a wider audience a chance to enjoy it. It's possible Capcom and Nintendo could make a change if there's enough demand, but it doesn't seem too likely.

Monster Hunter Stories Release Date

For those that won't mind the missing Zelda content, Monster Hunter Stories will be released June 14th on Nintendo Switch, PC, and PS4. That same day, Monster Hunter Stories 2 will be released on PS4, which was previously a Nintendo Switch exclusive. Readers can check out our review of that game right here.

Are you planning to check out Monster Hunter Stories on Switch? Would you like to see the Zelda DLC kept around? Share your thoughts with me directly on Twitter at @Marcdachamp, on Bluesky at @Marcdachamp, or on Instagram at @Dachampgaming!

New Nintendo 3DS Remake Rumored to Be in the Works https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/nintendo-3ds-games-switch-2-remake/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 19:11:00 +0000 Logan Moore 2f1c9c6c-51c7-42ee-abf0-193fa4b2fd87

A new remake of a game that appeared on the Nintendo 3DS is said to be in development at Nintendo. In the era of the Switch Nintendo has remastered and remade numerous titles from the GameCube, Nintendo DS, Wii, Wii U, and many other platforms. Now, with the Nintendo Switch 2 seemingly on the horizon, it sounds as though Nintendo has no plans to stop bringing forward many popular games from its past to new hardware.

Based on new information from PH Brazil, it is said that a remaster of an undisclosed game from the Nintendo 3DS library is in the works for Nintendo Switch 2. Although the game in question wasn't revealed, the insider, who has been credible in the past when it comes to Nintendo, says that the project shouldn't launch until after March 2025. Additionally, it was stressed that this title won't be shown off at Nintendo's next Direct, which is set to transpire in June.

Given the sheer number of games that appeared on the Nintendo 3DS, it's hard to pinpoint which title those at Nintendo might be looking to give a facelift for new platforms. Some of the most popular first-party games on 3DS happened to include The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Kirby: Planet Robobot, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Super Mario 3D Land, just to name a few. As a result, any of these games or numerous others could be a candidate to head to the Switch 2 in the future.

In the near term, Nintendo is actually planning to release a remaster of a game from the Nintendo 3DS on current Switch consoles later this month. That game happens to be Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, which is a revamp of the 3DS title Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Set to launch on June 27, this new version of the second Luigi's Mansion installment will feature updated controls and higher fidelity visuals while keeping intact the story and gameplay mechanics found in the original. Be sure to stay tuned to ComicBook.com later in the month as we'll have more to share with you on this remake closer to its arrival.

EA Sports FC 24: Best Players for Incisive Pass Master Evolution https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ea-sports-fc-24-best-players-incisive-pass-master-evolution-ps5-xbox-pc/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 18:58:00 +0000 Ricky Frech 8855e9cc-e6c6-4c71-a943-f479fe07693b

On May 31st, developer Electronic Arts introduced the final week of its annual Team of the Season promo into EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team. As it is every year, the Ultimate TOTS squad includes top-tier players from each league worldwide, giving users their best chance yet at picking up the best cards in EA Sports FC 24. However, those cards are still very tough to pack unless you're lucky, making them out of reach for many. Fortunately, EA FC 24's devs continue to drop Evolutions so you can boost low-rated cards up to the TOTS level. Below, we've put together a full breakdown of the Incisive Pass Master Evolution and a list of the best players to use it on in EA Sports FC 24.

What is the EAFC 24 Incisive Pass Master Evolution?

(Photo: EA Sports FC 24)

Unfortunately, this Evolution isn't free. You'll need to drop 100,000 Coins or 500 FC Points to start it. That said, it's an easy way to grab a third PlayStyle+ on your favorite card, so it might be worth the investment. Here are the requirements you'll need to keep in mind:

  • Max Overall: 90
  • Max Pace: 91
  • Max Shooting: 92
  • Max PlayStyles: 7
  • Max PlayStyles+: 2

Once you finish all of the Objectives, you'll earn +4 Overall, +3 Pace, +4 Shooting, +4 Passing, +3 Defending, +3 Dribbling, +4 Physical, +1 Weak Foot, the Trickster and Power Shot PlayStyles, and the Incisive Pass PlayStyles+.

The Best Players for the Incisive Pass Master Evolution

This is one of the more interesting Evolutions we've gotten in terms of potential players. Several incredible options will cost you well over 200,000 Coins, but those cards are probably worth the investment. For example, if you decided to complete David Ginola's recent Hero SBC, this is a must-do Evolution. However, that card costs over one million Coins. With that in mind, we're listing some of our favorite options that cost less than 100,000 Coins below:

  • Caroline Hansen - Barcelona
  • Neymar Jr - Al Hilal
  • Virgil van Dijk - Liverpool
  • Lucio (Hero) - Brazil/Serie A
  • Alessandro Florenzi (Flashback SBC) - Milan

The first three players are all normal gold cards, so you can expect to spend around 25,000 Coins if you don't already have them in your club. Hansen and Neymar are both natural wingers, though Hansen has a slight speed edge, while Neymar will feel better with the ball at his feet. At the end of the day, it's mostly just preference. On the other hand, Big Virg is always a top centerback in EA FC, and this only makes him better.

The other two are a bit more expensive but might be worth it depending on what you're looking for. Lucio is another great CB who brings a bit more speed than van Dijk. Meanwhile, Florenzi is one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game who can flex out to right-back for some extra versatility. Other players to consider are Hero cards like Jay Jay Okocha, Hidetoshi Nakata, and Park Ji Sung.

EA Sports FC 24 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. The Incisive Pass Master Evolution expires on June 30th.

Fortnite Reportedly Getting New Collab With The Boys https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/fortnite-the-boys-skins-collab-report/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 17:40:00 +0000 Logan Moore eb9da856-064d-4893-8760-3ab660cf8b5f

With Season 4 of The Boys set to debut on Prime Video later this month, a new report has claimed that the popular TV series will eventually be collaborating with Fortnite. As of a little more than a week ago, Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite began and has since seen new crossovers with Fallout, X-Men, and Lethal Company all land in the battle royale title. While it's still unknown what else this current season might bring with it, it sounds as though a clash of some sort with The Boys could be on the horizon.

According to insider Nick Baker, who has previously had accurate scoops when it comes to Fortnite collaborations, Epic Games is preparing to incorporate content tied to The Boys in the game. Speaking on the latest episode of The XboxEra Podcast, Baker said that characters from The Boys will be coming to Fortnite as new skins. Baker didn't specify which characters from the Prime Video series would join Fortnite, but the show's most famous faces such as Homelander, Billy Butcher, and Starlight all seem likely.

As for when this crossover could happen, Baker stressed that it might not come about for some time. Although Season 4 of The Boys is set to begin in mere weeks, Baker said that Epic tends to work on its own timelines and will only roll out this collab when it decides to do so. With this in mind, it sounds as though it might take many more months (or even years) for The Boys skins to come to Fortnite, although their addition now seems quite plausible.

In the near term, though, The Boys is set to see some major representation in Mortal Kombat 1 in mere days. Specifically, Homelander will become the latest fighter on the roster of MK1 when he joins the game on June 4 in early access for those who purchased the full Kombat Pack. He'll then be purchasable on his own a week later on June 11. As for The Boys Season 4, the series will return exclusively on Prime Video with a three-episode premiere on June 13.

Xbox Game Pass Reveals Games Leaving in June https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/xbox-game-pass-games-leaving-june-2024/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 17:07:00 +0000 Marc Deschamps 70412705-503b-4394-9806-f17c6f7654ff

Every month, Xbox Game Pass adds a new batch of games that can be accessed by subscribers. However, the trade-off is that several games end up rotating out. June is no exception, and five titles will be leaving the service within the next two weeks. If players want to check them out before they're gone, they might want to jump on them quickly. At this time, Xbox has not revealed what games will be replacing them, but we should know soon what to expect in the first half of June. The following games are all leaving Xbox Game Pass:

  • The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales
  • Bramble: The Mountain King
  • High on Life
  • Rune Factory 4 Special
  • Spacelines from the Far Out

Should You Play These Games Before They Leave?

Of the games listed, Bramble: The Mountain King might be the most significant loss. The horror game was released last year and received positive reviews. Thankfully, it seems the game can be wrapped up in less than 5 hours, so anyone that wants to do so before it goes away can play through the story fairly quickly. The same definitely can't be said for Rune Factory 4 Special, as entries in that series tend to take a very long time to complete.

As is always the case with Xbox Game Pass departures, all of these games have been given a discount, and can be purchased from the Microsoft Store for 20% off. That helps to ease the sting a little bit, so anyone that's really loving these games can fully own them without having to worry about losing the loss.

June Xbox Game Pass Games

Two weeks ago, Xbox revealed a pair of games that will be coming to Game Pass this month; on June 4th, Firework will be available on PC, while Rolling Hills will be available on PC, Console, and Cloud. Over the next few days, we should learn what else to expect in the first half of the month. Xbox will likely have even more things to reveal during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th.

Beyond that, we can expect to see some first-party games added to the service this year. After a lot of rumors, we now know for a fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be a day one game, and we can similarly expect Indiana Jones and The Great Circle to release on day one if it's coming out in 2024. However, a definitive release date for The Great Circle has yet to be revealed.

Are you a fan of any of these games? Will you try to play any of them before they leave? Share your thoughts with me directly on Twitter at @Marcdachamp, on Bluesky at @Marcdachamp, or on Instagram at @Dachampgaming!

Nintendo Was Reportedly Worried Hyrule Warriors Would "Drop the Status of Zelda" https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/nintendo-switch-worried-hyrule-warriors-drop-the-status-zelda/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 15:56:00 +0000 Marc Deschamps 3c81151d-22dd-4320-a6a0-de0d262890d1

When Hyrule Warriors released on Wii U in 2014, it marked a rare spin-off for Nintendo's Legend of Zelda franchise. Combining the style of Dynasty Warriors with characters and locations from games like Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess, Hyrule Warriors was unlike anything that had ever been done with Zelda. The Koei Tecmo game apparently caused a lot of concern for Nintendo of America at the time, with many worried that it could damage one of the company's strongest brands. In an episode of the Kit and Krysta podcast, former Nintendo of America public relations manager Kit Ellis discussed some of the "hand-wringing" that surrounded the game.

"Within NoA there was a lot of worry of like 'this game's not gonna be good' or 'this is going to drop the status of Zelda. Maybe we should just tell Japan we're not gonna put it out, and just keep it in Japan' to keep the pristine image," said Ellis.

Keeping Zelda "Pristine"

Obviously, Hyrule Warriors did end up releasing in North America, and that decision proved to be a smart one. The game ended up releasing not only on Wii U, but eventually on 3DS and Nintendo Switch! The partnership between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo would result in a 2020 follow-up, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Nintendo would even partner with Koei Tecmo on two Fire Emblem spin-offs: Fire Emblem Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.

While it might be surprising in retrospect, Nintendo has always been very cautious when it comes to protecting its intellectual property. Zelda has endured for decades thanks in large part to the level of quality that's associated with games like Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time. Meanwhile, the Dynasty Warriors franchise has gotten more mixed reviews. It's easy to see why there might have been concern in that regard, especially during the Wii U era, when Nintendo was desperately struggling to compete.

The Future of Hyrule Warriors

With a new Nintendo system set to be revealed within the next year, it will be interesting to see if Hyrule Warriors continues on as a series. While the games don't have the same level of status as traditional Zelda titles, they've definitely helped fill the void between games. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity sold more than 4 million copies on Switch, so it's hard to imagine we won't see more of the series in the future!

Are you a fan of the Hyrule Warriors games? Are you happy Nintendo made the decision to bring the games to North America? Share your thoughts with me directly on Twitter at @Marcdachamp, on Bluesky at @Marcdachamp, or on Instagram at @Dachampgaming!

Arcane Season 2 Comes to Life in Stunning Fan Poster https://comicbook.com/anime/news/arcane-season-2-poster-artwork/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 15:24:00 +0000 Megan Peters b088d61a-e929-4cbe-a4d2-9de7a0fdbaba

Arcane season two is not that far off. It has been quite the wait, but come November, the hit animated series will return. Now, Netflix has posted a special new look at the series, and Arcane fans are already emotional thanks to the key visual.

As you can see below, the fan-made visual was released in tandem with this year's Annecy Festival. The event, which is focused on all things animation, will Arcane season two in the spotlight with Netflix's help. A panel is expected to go live for Arcane that breaks down the production of season two, so artist viollynt decided to piece together a special visual in honor of season two

The visual, as you can see it above, puts two familiar faces center stage. We can see Jinx and Vi together, but this time, the sisters' roles are quite literally reversed. This kind of dynamic fits the pair given what we saw from Arcane season one, so hopefully, the sisters will have plenty on hand to keep fans busy when season two drops.

Currently, Netflix is slated to bring Arcane season two to life in November 2024. The show's return comes some years after season one launched as the 2021 title became an instant hit. Heralded as one of Netflix's best animated originals, Arcane put Studio Fortiche on the map, and it didn't take long for a season two order to come through. If you have not seen season one of Arcane, the show is streaming on Netflix now. So for more info on the League of Legends series, you can read its official synopsis below:

"In the cities of Piltover and Zaun, tensions rise as inventors, hooligans, politicians, and crime lords grow increasingly dissatisfied with the constraints of a devastated society. With the situation on the verge of being unsustainable, two sisters steal an artifact of immeasurable power. Discovery and danger collide as heroes are born and bonds are broken. Will this power change the world? Or will it lead to ruin? This is the world of Arcane."

What do you think about this Arcane update ahead of season two? Let us know what you think over on Twitter and Instagram. You can also hit me up @MeganPetersCB to share your take!

Life in Reterra Review: The Perfect Introduction to Tile-Laying https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/life-in-reterra-review-the-perfect-introduction-to-tile-laying/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 14:39:00 +0000 Christian Hoffer 11ecc551-a198-4c73-9221-22aace339982

Life in Reterra, a new board game by Eric Lang and published by Hasbro, is a perfect introduction to tile-laying games and combines simple and easy to understand gameplay with dozens of potential variation and fun strategies that should keep most games competitive. Released earlier this year, Life in Reterra on its surface seems like a bit of an odd duck - Hasbro's main toy brand tends to publish simple, family-friendly games with barely any crossover with the growing field of deeper and more complex tabletop games. Additionally, the game's award-winning designer Eric M. Lang is best known for creating very challenging and complex games himself, with games like Blood Rage and Rising Sun combining multiple mechanics and systems together. However, Life in Reterra succeeds by providing easy-to-understand rules, a fixed endgame condition and ways to either tone down or ramp up the complexity based on who is playing.

In Life in Reterra, players are tasked with rebuilding a community within a post-apocalyptic landscape of some kind. Players start with a single 2x2 tile that contains four different types of terrain. On their turn, they are tasked with expanding their private community by choosing either one tile from a group of five publicly available tiles or from a small pool of "private" tiles reserved for that player. Players must adhere to two simple rules - their community must eventually form a 4x4 square of tiles and the tile they place on their turn must fully match up with the edge of another tile.

In addition to containing one or more of five different terrain types, individual tiles in Life in Reterra may also contain one or more gear symbols or relic symbols, both of which translate to victory points in different ways. On the turn the tile is placed, a player may choose to place an inhabitant on a gear space on that tile. They can also choose to align gears on different tiles to form either a pair of gears, a 3-gear "L" shape, or a square of four gears. If players have one of those three gear patterns, they can freely place a building with the same corresponding shape on top of it. Each building has a built-in victory point amount and an ability that's activated in different way. For instance, the farm clogs an opponent's relics with junk tokens, while the garden rewards additional points if placed in a terrain group with exactly seven spaces in it.

life-in-reterra-overview.jpg

A big chunk of the strategy in Life in Reterra comes from which buildings are chosen to be used for a particular game. The game comes with three "pre-built" sets of five buildings, but players are also encouraged to mix and match their own combinations. Each building also has two distinct abilities and victory point totals (indicated by a card placed on the building pool at the start of the game), which in essence gives players 30 different buildings to choose from.

At the end of the game, players score points based on how many large groupings of terrain they have, how many inhabitants they have, how many fully enclosed energy sources they have (energy sources are a distinct type of tile in the game), how many relics they have, and the types of buildings they have. They also lose points for having junk on their board.

What I enjoyed about Life in Reterra is that the game, at least on its surface, feels pretty balanced. There is a limited pool of buildings available to place in each game, but missing out on one or more building types isn't necessarily a game-killer. In one game of Life in Reterra, I was able to quickly pivot when my opponent snatched up enough farms to ruin my chances of loading up my board with buildings that scored additional points for having more relics in my community. Likewise, while I was able to score the "big" building of the game when I grabbed the one four-gear building, my opponent kept the score close simply due to the number of junk tiles she had placed on my board.

I also enjoyed that there are countless combinations to Life in Reterra - just the three pre-built options AND the five suggestions in the rulebook should keep players very busy for the foreseeable future.

My biggest criticism of Life in Reterra was that the asphalt and jungle tiles had a similar enough hue that it was hard to tell the difference. Dark green and black do not go well together, especially when they are side by side. In our first couple of playthroughs, we had a couple of close calls where a player thought they were grabbing a tile heavy with asphalt only to discover it was jungle upon closer inspection. It's a minor quibble, though, and one that can easily be fixed either with good lighting or making sure that a player knows what they're putting down before they put it down.

Ultimately, this marks the second strong "introductory" board game released this year, alongside Ravensburger's Mycella. Both are games that my 9-year old will enjoy and will likely master in just a few playthroughs, but it's also challenging enough that I can put it on an adult gaming table and still get enjoyment for a quick 30-45 minute playthrough. I'm enjoying this new trend of games made with an eye towards introducing complex board game concepts while also not being too simplistic that they can't be enjoyed.

Life in Reterra is available in stores now. A review copy was provided by Hasbro for review.

MultiVersus Seems to Take Shots at The Rock's Black Adam https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/multiversus-shots-the-rock-black-adam-batman-who-laughs/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 14:26:00 +0000 Marc Deschamps a1f75753-7378-4873-b2b2-56c1a1dd4010

After a very long wait, MultiVersus finally made its triumphant return late last month. The game has seen several changes and improvements over the version that went offline last year, including the addition of new fighters. One of those new fighters is the Joker, who has a skin based on The Batman Who Laughs. This version has some interesting interactions with other characters in the game, including DC favorites like Black Adam. When the two characters match up with one another, sometimes The Batman Who Laughs will say "Weren't you supposed to be 'rearranging the hierarchy' or something?"

A video compiling several taunts from The Batman Who Laughs was shared by Ben-Gun on YouTube. The Black Adam line can be found at the 3:09 mark.

The Hierarchy of Power

For those unfamiliar with the significance of that line, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson played the titular character in 2022's Black Adam live-action film. Throughout the movie's promotional campaign, Johnson and the movie's producers frequently talked about how it was going to "change the hierarchy of power" of the DC Universe. They also talked about Black Adam fighting characters like Superman, Batman, and Shazam, and becoming one of the most important faces of the DCEU. The movie's post-credit scene even teased that fight with Superman, with an appearance by Henry Cavill. However, none of those plans panned out, and Black Adam does not seem to be part of the immediate vision for James Gunn's rebooted DC movies.

It's hard to say if this was meant as a shot at the Black Adam movie fizzling out critically and commercially, or just meant as a wink and a nod to DC fans. Whatever the case might be, this interaction in the game is already generating a lot of discussion on social media!

The Batman Who Laughs Taunts

Black Adam isn't the only interesting taunt we see from The Batman Who Laughs in MultiVersus. When interacting with Batman and the Joker, the villain makes a lot of references to the connections between the three of them. More often than not, The Batman Who Laughs insults the two characters, just as he did with Black Adam. He also takes a few shots at Shaggy as well, though in the video we can also see The Batman Who Laughs seemingly attempting to recruit him as a protege. Clearly, even he's pretty impressed by Shaggy's new powers!

Have you played as The Batman Who Laughs yet? Are you surprised by this taunt in MultiVersus? Share your thoughts with me directly on Twitter at @Marcdachamp, on Bluesky at @Marcdachamp, or on Instagram at @Dachampgaming!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveals New Limited Time Mystery Gift https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/pokemon-scarlet-violet-talonflame-limited-time-mystery-gift-nintendo-switch/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 12:48:00 +0000 Marc Deschamps 217eac4b-146b-4934-93c2-bccab9dfe46f

A new distribution event is now live in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet on Nintendo Switch. This time around, players can receive a Talonflame based on the one used by the 2023 Japan National Champion @UB_SLOW. The Talonflame can be claimed by entering the code F1ARR0W23MASTER. Readers should note that there is a very short window to claim this one, and the code is only live through June 2nd at 14:59 UTC, so those interested will want to claim it quickly before the promotion comes to an end. The Talonflame will come at level 50 and know the following moves:

  • Acrobatics
  • Tailwind
  • Protect
  • Quick Guard

Talonflame's Ability, Ribbons, and Tera Type

The Talonflame that players get with this code will have the Gale Wings ability, which allows Flying-type attacks to always hit first, as long as the Pokemon's HP is full. That can be hugely beneficial for players that like to hit hard and fast in battle, and can quickly take out Grass, Bug, or Fighting-type Pokemon. The Talonflame also has a Ghost Tera-type, and comes with both the Battle Champion Ribbon and the Partner Ribbon. Both of these confer different titles on Talonflame when it gets sent into battle. Readers should note that because this is based on the Pokemon used by the Japan National Champion, Talonflame's name will be in Japanese, and cannot be changed.

How to Redeem Mystery Gift Codes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Claiming Mystery Gifts in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is a very easy process. From the game's Main Menu, select Poke Portal. The final option on the following screen will be Mystery Gift. Selecting Mystery Gift will lead to a screen that lists several different Mystery Gift types. For the purpose of codes like this one, select Get with Code/Password. The player will then be prompted to enter the code. Some letters cannot be used for these codes, so remember that when there's something that looks like it should be an "I" or "0," these are always the numbers one and zero, respectively.

If the code is still active when used, and it hasn't already been redeemed, the player will see the option to claim the Mystery Gift. Talonflame will be sent either to the player's party or boxes, and can then be used in the game. The whole process should take less than a minute as long as there aren't any issues!

Are you planning to claim this Talonflame in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Have you been enjoying the game's distribution events? Share your thoughts with me directly on Twitter at @Marcdachamp, on Bluesky at @Marcdachamp, or on Instagram at @Dachampgaming!

PlayStation Days of Play Sale Features Discounts on Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and More Exclusives https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/playstation-days-of-play-2024-exclusives/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 04:46:00 +0000 Hannah Adkins d9a01db0-8f5f-452e-8e0b-318647803f72

Sony's annual Days of Play sale in the PlayStation store has kicked off what will be another busy summer for video games, with this year's sale featuring a massive amount of games - over 900, in fact, spanning across 39 pages to scroll through. The 2024 Days of Play sale offers a few fantastic deals on PlayStation exclusives, so if you haven't already picked these up now is the perfect chance to experience some great titles at a nice price break.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - $52.49 / $67.49

The most exciting title included in the list of exclusives is without a doubt Square Enix's latest Final Fantasy release, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. One of the most recent releases, Rebirth has been available since late February of this year. With a 92 rating on Metacritic, Rebirth has undoubtedly been a favorite release for gamers this year - one ComicBook gave a 5/5 stars in our review, summarizing that "Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth improves on nearly every aspect of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, pushing the PlayStation 5 to the limit and creating a jaw-dropping experience in the process."

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - $49.69 / $59.99

Another recent release that came in the back end of last year is Insomniac Games' swinging new entry in their Spider-Man games universe, Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The third overall entry into the franchise introduces Peter Parker's best friend Harry Osborn and explores the darker side to Peter as he takes on the Venom symbiote. Featuring iconic characters like Kraven the Hunter, Quinten Beck, and even some additional symbiotes, ComicBook's 4.5 out of 5 star review praises, "Marvel's Spider-Man 2 captures the essence of the character on a micro and macro level."

Rise of the Ronin - $49.69 / $59.99

Released in March of this year, Rise of the Ronin earned itself a rating on Metacritic of 76, a number that aligns with ComicBook's review that the game was "quite unremarkable." While we felt there was nothing special about the open world samurai game, perhaps the discounts available during the sale are enticing enough to experience the positives in the game, which are mostly attributed to the combat systems.

God of War Ragnarok - $39.89

If you're amongst those that haven't experienced how Kratos' story continues in God of War Ragnarok, now is your chance to experience the game that did incredibly well during the 2022 game awards season and ComicBook felt was "a surprising and powerful sequel."

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered - $39.99

With filming for season 2 of HBO's award winning live-action The Last of Us series, the sale on The Last of Us Part 2 offers a perfect opportunity to refresh on what comes next in Ellie's story. As ComicBook remarked in our review for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, "for the most part, The Last of Us Part II Remastered is the same game that Naughty Dog released back in 2020," but that doesn't mean the game isn't worth experiencing (or re-experiencing) in its shiny new package.

Gran Turismo 7 - $39.89

Gran Turismo 7 earned a 4.5 out of 5 stars from ComicBook when it released over two years ago, so if the summer season has you in the mood for racing now's your chance to get the title we felt had the "overall experience that Gran Turismo 7 provides is incredibly comprehensive and feels like a love letter to both car culture and the 25-year history of the Gran Turismo franchise."

The Days of Play sale is running through June 12th.

MultiVersus Boss Shares Update on Features, Improvements Being Worked on https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/multiversus-boss-shares-upcoming-features-improvements/ Sun, 02 Jun 2024 03:33:00 +0000 Hannah Adkins c61a77d1-224f-41df-95c8-68828c8afc2a

MultiVersus has had an interesting release calendar that has kept fans on their toes since the game entered Early Access almost two years ago, but the full release is finally here as of May 28th. As fans are experiencing the full release there's been plenty of feedback shared, and Player First Games co-founder and MultiVersus director Tony Huynh has joined the game's official social media accounts in sharing some of the updates players can expect to see in the future. In a post on the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account yesterday, it was first shared:

"Morning MVPs, a quick note on Character and Battle Pass Tokens. You'll be prompted to use these first, before you can get Characters & Battle Passes using other currencies. Your Character and Battle Pass Tokens stash will remain available until you've utilized them. Keep in mind, this shouldn't limit your ability to obtain characters & Battle Passes."

The statement was met with additional feedback in the replies, to which Huynh addressed on his personal account earlier today in order to let players know what fixes are in the works for MultiVersus."Thanks you for the feedback! The team is hard at work on it. Some of the missing settings and features from the open beta are incoming, team colors, end of game stats, swapping side and neutral attack, adjustable input buffer settings, etc." The statement wraps up by mentioning more information will be coming soon.

Huynh continued the thread by stating that "Many of these features are currently implemented and are in testing and we had planned, but were left out due to time as we had to rebuild every screen and feature again to support our new netcode and Unreal Engine 5 switch. Thanks again! I hope some of this context is helpful." Huynh also confirmed in an additional reply that Spectator Mode will be added to the game, and while he couldn't provide an exact date or window for when this will be implemented, he did say it will be "soonish," and that the developers are also working on a way to implement the ability to buy tiers on the Battlepass for those who have a busy schedule and don't want to fall behind.

It sounds like the developers are working on plenty of ways to improve MultiVersus, which is free to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and on Steam and the Epic Games store.

As mentioned, the Elden Ring developers FromSoftware have shared plenty leading up to Shadow of the Erdtree's release, including the official story trailer on May 21st which was shortly followed with a closer look at one of the new NPCs featured in the video. While the culmination of trailers and information provided on Shadow of the Erdtree thus far has made the DLC highly anticipated, there are also worries being shared by players regarding the fate of the (of course) beautifully designed new characters featured in the Land of Shadow.

While Shadow of the Erdtree is the only DLC FromSoftware has planned for their critically acclaimed and award winning game, but this is far from upsetting news given the developers' previous DLCs in the Dark Souls series were just as impressive as the base game themselves. In addition, Elden Ring creator Hidetaka Miyazaki has previously suggested that the area explored in Shadow of the Erdtree is roughly the size of Limgrave in the base game, which encompasses the area from Stormveil Castle to the southernmost regions of the whole map.

Suffice to say, the Land of Shadow has plenty more for Elden Ring players to do when it releases June 21st.

Digital Lizards of Doom Vol. 1's Top Five Easter Eggs Include Alien, Dune, Zelda, and More https://comicbook.com/comics/news/digital-lizards-of-doom-vol-1s-top-five-easter-eggs-include-alien-dune-zelda-and-more/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 22:45:00 +0000 Matthew Aguilar f04f1da2-a947-4dbb-b09d-5b67ab950dad

The delightful world of Digital Lizards of Doom is back with a new volume of adventures from Mad Cave Studios and Papercutz, but that doesn't mean there's not plenty of fun still to be had in Volume 1. More fun is right around the corner with Digital Lizards of Doom Vol. 2, which hits stores on June 25th, but Vol. 1 is in stores right now, and those who dive in will find a bevy of pop culture and comic Easter Eggs throughout. The talented team of Gabriel Valentin, Ernie Najera, Margo Prodan and Dan Brozo have woven in all sorts of hidden geekery throughout Vol. 1, including nods to Wizard of Oz, Alien, Dune, The Legend of Zelda, and more, and you can check out our five favorite Easter Eggs from Digital Lizards of Doom Vol. 1 below.

1. Wizard of Oz

1-wizard-of-oz.jpg
(Photo: Mad Cave Studios)

It doesn't get much more iconic than Wizard of Oz, and the 1939 film is the perfect place to start our Easter Egg journey. The book follows a similar pattern to Dorothy's adventure in the film, which starts out in black and white and then shifts into full color when she finds herself in Oz. Similarly, the Digital Lizards of Doom moves from black and white artwork to the world of full color when things shift to another dimension, and taking that well past coincidence is the dialogue. Dorothy then says "Toto...I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore", and in DLoD the next line is "I have a feeling you're not on earth anymore."

2. Alien and Dune

2-alien-and-dune.jpg
(Photo: Mad Cave Studios)

For our next set of Easter Eggs, it's all about Pineapple Pete's slick gaming room, where he tells us to choose a character as he sets up the first level of our video game adventure. If you glance above him, you will find homages to two beloved properties. The poster on the left is a tribute to Ridley Scott's Alien film, while the poster on the right is a tribute to Frank Herbert's Dune novels. There's actually more connections than just the posters themselves though, as Dizzy Doom's arc and story is heading in a similar direction to Dune and Alien's lead heroes.

3. Samurai Jack

3-samurai-jack.png
(Photo: Mad Cave Studios)

Pineapple Pete has more tricks up his sleeve, including one that homages the beloved and legendary Samurai Jack. As Pete explains the origins of the DLoD universe, he says "Long ago in a distant land...I, Pineapple Pete, pineapple demon of Darkness." Fans of Samurai Jack will notice that his statement is very similar to how the villainous Aku introduces himself in every episode, where he says "Long ago in a distant land...I, Aku the shapeshifting master of darkness..." This also showcases the relationship between the main villain and the main hero, so it's quite a bit more than just a fun nod to the source material.

4. The Legend of Zelda

4-legend-of-zelda.png
(Photo: Mad Cave Studios)

One of the true timeless franchises in gaming is The Legend of Zelda, and there is a fun Zelda-styled moment in Digital Lizards of Doom Vol. 1, though you might have missed it. In one scene, Dana Deathly is saying they will need the help of Fat Cat Roger to make this victory happen, and as he tries to come to terms with this predicament, Deathly says "It's dangerous to go alone". That phrase will be familiar to fans of the Zelda franchise, and it first showed up in Legend of Zelda on NES in 1986. It's since become a well-known phrase in the series, and it also represents Zelda's move from the safety of his immediate location and village to the lively but dangerous world that lies beyond his home, and that moment and shift can be found in Dizzy Doom's story as well.

William Shakespeare

5-shakespeare.jpg
(Photo: Mad Cave Studios)

For our final Easter Egg, we move to the realm of real-life history, with a host of nods to the literary icon William Shakespeare. In the book, fans are introduced to the cyborg cat pirate Captain Fat Rogers, but they are also introduced to Fat Rogers' first mate Shakey Spears. Spears is connected to Shakespeare in several ways, including the fact that he is a Dryad, a favorite of Shakespeare's. Shakey's clothes are also an ode to Shakespeare, but the most apparent homage is Shakey's exclusive use of poetic verse in his dialogue. You can check out the image above, you can find the official description for Digital Lizards of Doom below.

"When a magical trickster secretly traps an entire universe inside a video game world, a young warrior named Dizzy Doom must search for answers to unravel the mystery. But as villains from another galaxy come to attack his kingdom, Dizzy is forced to make an unlikely alliance with a mysterious ninja and cyborg cat pirate. Dizzy's ideology will be tested, as he comes to realize everything is not always as it seems."

Digital Lizards of Doom Vol. 1: Dizzy Doom is in stores now. Digital Lizards of Doom Vol. 2: Commander E.K.O. is in stores on June 25th.

Nintendo Leak Hints at a New Zelda Game and More https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/nintendo-switch-games-zelda-leak/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 21:52:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 794733b9-b7c6-4e0c-bb35-e8aef8199e3b

Just after Nintendo fans were teased with the prospect of two unannounced Mario games planned for the Nintendo Switch consoles, the same insider who shared that info returned this week with indications of what two more in-development games might end up being. Codenames for two Nintendo games were revealed this week by the insider, Midori, who suggested that one of the games might be a Zelda title while the other is thought to be a sports-related game akin to something like Nintendo Switch Sports which released around two years ago now.

Just like last time, Midori took to X (formerly Twitter) to shed some light on Nintendo's projects and the codenames attached to them. The leaker who's best known for their insights into things like the Persona series and other Atlus games named two different codenames -- "Edward" and "Elsa" -- which currently exist for games Nintendo is working on. While those codenames don't really give away much on their own as one would hope for from a decent codename, Midori believes there are connections to be drawn between those and past codenames for other known games.

"There is a project at Nintendo with the codename Edward," the leaker said. "This might be related to the rumors of a new Zelda series title."

For those struggling to see the connection between "Edward" and the Zelda series, you're not alone. Midori explained in a follow-up tweet that the codename for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Nintendo Switch was "Richard" which suggests a trend of monarchs or royalty in general for the newer Zelda initiatives.

The other game talked about by Midori isn't thought to be part of the Zelda series, but the conclusion about what it might be is born from similar connections between codenames.

"There is also a project at Nintendo in development with the codename Anna," Midori said. "Elsa is the codename for Nintendo Switch Sports. So this title might be related."

It's worth acknowledging that the speculation about these codenames and the games they're associated with is a bit less concrete than the Mario rumors before. The Mario games were both codenamed in ways that made it much more believable to imagine them being related to Mario games while these for the supposed Zelda and sports games, for example, require a bit more guesswork.

Nintendo may end up hosting a Nintendo Direct soon enough amid all the summer gaming events going on soon, so even if a new Zelda or sports game aren't part of the plans, expect some Nintendo news soon.

Dark Horse Adapting Famous The Witcher Story in New Graphic Novel https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/dark-horse-adapting-famous-the-witcher-story-in-new-graphic-novel/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 20:34:00 +0000 Matthew Aguilar 20a3398b-f4eb-425c-a305-3175a07736fd

Dark Horse Comics and CD Project Red are partnering once again to bring one of Andrzej Sapkowski's beloved short stories to life in graphic novel form. The short story is pulled from the acclaimed short story collection The Last Wish and will be titled The Witcher: The Edge of the World. The story will be adapted by writer Magdalena Salik (Ptomien, Gildia Hordow), artist Tommaso Bennato (Mystic Heart), colorist Chris O'Halloran (Mortal Terror, Hellboy in Love), and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou (The Witcher: Corvo Bianco), and will be featured in a stunning hardcover volume. You can check out the gorgeous cover by Kai Carpenter (Books of Magic, The Last God) below.

The Edge of the World is a favorite of Witcher fans, and that includes writer Magdalena Salik, who loves how the story plays with assumptions and preconceived notions of what is good and what is evil. That's all intertwined with the sort of humor, wit, and adventure that Witcher stories excel at, and now longtime fans have a new way to experience the story, while new fans can hop in for the first time.

the-witcher-edge-of-the-world-cover.jpg
(Photo: Dark Horse Comics)

"The Edge of the World is one of my favourite Witcher stories," admits Salik. "Why? Because of its characters who are diverse and counter-intuitive. Everyone has some ideas about devils or pixies - say farewell to them. In this story Sapkowski plays with your established notions about heroes and villains; and plot twists as well. For me it's one of the wisest short stories ever, going far beyond typical fantasy quest versions of this scenario. There is all we love about The Witcher: jokes, quest, a lot of action, captivating characters. But apart from that there is also a strong message which leaves you both amused and pondering. In other words - enjoy and expect the unexpected."

"For me, who loves the Fantasy genre," says artist Bennato. "Working on a story of 'The Witcher' was a great pleasure and I hope that the fans appreciate the commitment and the passion that I put in trying to bring out the emotions of the characters and, in the case of the Sylvan, enrich his design with leaves, springs and mushrooms. Enjoy this incredible adaptation! I've done it, and I had fun drawing it!"

The Edge of the World description reads, "Work is hard to come by for Geralt. And for his bardic traveling companion, Dandelion, the doldrum of the road is not a worthy subject for his rhymes or ballads. As they travel to the edge of the known world, townsfolk speak of many stories, but it seems that's all they are- recitals of monsters and superstition- until a man follows Geralt with news of a devil scavenging the local fields. Get rid of the beast, but under no circumstances is it to be killed. Only how can Geralt hunt the creature, when there are no such things as devils?"

Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher: The Edge of the World will hit bookstores on December 17th and then will hit comic stores on December 18th. You can pre-order the new graphic novel from your local comic store, bookstore, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and TFAW for $17.99.

Call of Duty Kicks Off Gundam Crossover with First Bundle and a New Trailer https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/call-of-duty-gundam-skins-trailer/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 20:23:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 5a537cc4-1bcc-403b-83cb-d0228aca8113

Activision and Bandai Namco teased recently that Call of Duty would be adding Mobile Suit Gundam cosmetics soon, a crossover that would've seemed unlikely years ago but now isn't that unbelievable at all after Call of Duty's gotten collabs with things like Doom, Dune: Part 2, and more. Once the crossover was confirmed, three different bundles were announced, but release dates weren't offered. That's changed now that Activision and Bandai Namco have put the first of those three Gundam bundles in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Warzone with the other two set to release at later dates.

The first of these Mobile Suit Gundam crossovers in the Call of Duty games is highlighted by the MS-06S Zaku II Operator skin for Swagger. For those who are not as familiar with Gundam but are intrigued by the crossover now, that's the big red suit seen in the trailer below. It comes with a blueprint for the AMR9, another for the Longbow, a melee weaopn skin, a finishing move, and a calling card, and the whole bundle can be yours for 2,400 COD Points.

"The 'Tracer Pack: Mobile Suit - MS-06S Zaku II' offers a commander type mobile suit in the form of the 'MS-06S Zaku II' Operator Skin, accompanied by three Blueprints, a Charm, Loading Screen, Large Decal, two Weapon Stickers, Emblem, an animated Calling Card, and the 'Searing Slash' Finishing Move," a post from the Call of Duty team confirmed prior to this bundle going live today.

Even if you're only casually familiar with Gundam, the most recognizable of these three bundles should be the RX-78-2 Gundam. Expectedly, that one is releasing last so that the other bundles are put in front of players first. More details on those other two bundles as well as the dates on which they'll release can be found below:

Tracer Pack: Mobile Suit - RX-78-2 Gundam

Tracer Pack: Mobile Suit - XVX-016 Gundam Aerial (June 3rd)

Call of Duty's first Gundam bundle is live in the in-game COD Store now.

New PlayStation Plus Game Is the Perfect Follow-Up to April's Free Games https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/playstation-ps-plus-games-dave-the-diver-dredge/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 17:35:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 26796ea3-b377-485b-a27f-a620dfd587ea

Now that PlayStation Plus subscribers have made it to June, all of May's free PlayStation Plus games including those that were free for all users as well as those that were only in the PlayStation Plus Extra or PlayStation Plus Premium tiers are available. And for those who claimed the free PlayStation Plus games the month prior in April, one of the PlayStation Plus Extra games added in May called Dredge just happens to be the perfect follow-up.

That's because in April, PlayStation Plus subscribers got Dave the Diver. The 2023 game from developer Mintrocket has been received exceptionally well on pretty much every platform it was released on even before it came to PlayStation Plus, but once it did, the love for the game was renewed all over again. It's got a bit of everything in it with minigames to play, a business to run, and fish to catch with dashes of combat and roguelike mechanics mixed in, so it's no wonder that it's gotten so much attention and DLCs like the most recent one with Godzilla.

Dave the Diver got another DLC crossover as well with none other than Dredge itself which brings us full circle back to Dredge being added to the PlayStation Plus Extra tier late in May. Dredge isn't the same sort of game that Dave the Diver is aside from fishing elements and a unique art style, but the settings of the game made Dredge a perfect candidate for a crossover DLC in Dave the Diver that let players hunt down horrific creatures underwater.

That DLC introduced Dave the Diver players to Dredge which was already a pretty exceptional game itself, and now that it's available as part of the PlayStation Plus Extra library, it makes for an easy segue from Dave the Diver to a new fishy experience.

"Bro everyone here came from dave the diver (me included)," one PlayStation Plus subscriber said in a post on Reddit announcing the arrival of the game.

"Both Dave and Dredge are two of the best indies released in years. Lovely games," another said to offer praise towards both games.

Dave the Diver's time to be claimed via PlayStation Plus has come and gone, but Dredge will be available for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers from now until it's ever potentially removed from the PlayStation Plus catalog.

Netflix's Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft Reveals Release Date https://comicbook.com/anime/news/tomb-raider-legend-of-lara-croft-netflix-release-date/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 16:59:00 +0000 Evan Valentine 50d975fb-0590-45ed-9ff0-aa1964a9c190

Lara Croft has been a fixture in the video game world for decades, but consoles and personal computers aren't the only places where the Tomb Raider has made an appearance. There have been three live-action films on the silver screen, two of which starred Angelina Jolie, with the most recent starring Alicia Vikander, but Netflix is looking to bring Lara to the small screen this year. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft has revealed its release date, along with some surprising new details.

Hayley Atwell, who the pop culture fan community might best know as Agent Carter from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will voice Lara Croft's animated counterpart. She's set to be joined by Allen Maldonado playing the role of "Zip" and a returning name from the video game series in Earl Baylon who will return to the role of Jonah Maiava. Arriving on October 10th this fall, the series is set to join a stacked roster when it comes to Netflix's original animated line-up.

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft's Universe

Surprisingly, the new series will take place in the same universe as the recent trilogy of games, which includes Tomb Raider, Rise of The Tomb Raider, and Shadow of The Tomb Raider. Before it's release this fall, here's how Netflix describes the upcoming animated series, "The animated series TOMB RAIDER: THE LEGEND OF LARA CROFT picks up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video game Survivor trilogy (Tomb Raider; Rise of the Tomb Raider; Shadow of the Tomb Raider), and will chart the globetrotting heroine's next chapter as the iconic adventurer. More than 25 years after her first appearance, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) continues to explore ancient mysteries and uncover lost truths across breathtaking and dangerous destinations."

The description continues, confirming that The Legend of Lara Croft takes place following the trilogy of games, "Following the events of the Survivor series, Lara Croft has abandoned her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures. But she must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become."

Gray Zone Warfare Update, Roadmap Coming Soon https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/gray-zone-warfare-update-roadmap-soon/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 15:38:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon d63a491a-63aa-4316-9499-cb0db5d9efc2

Gray Zone Warfare players can look forward to another big update soon with developer Madfinger Games teasing this week that Patch 2 is "just around the corner," the studio said. On top of that, a roadmap won't be far from that second big patch with Madfinger Games saying that a broader look at what's coming in the next major content updates will also be shared soon. All this comes in the midst of Gray Zone Warfare reaching a pretty impressive milestone this week with over 900,000 units of the base game since it launched in early access in April.

The tease about what's to come in terms of a roadmap and the next big update was shared in a post on Steam talking about that 900,000-unit milestone. That number accounts for just the base game, too. Gray Zone Warfare players will recall that Madfinger Games has put out several different hotfixes for the game since it released, but it's only gotten one real update that stamped out a ton of issues and fine-tuned some of the game's hyperrealistic systems. The second of those big updates is what Madfinger Games now says is coming soon.

"With one month, one patch, and four hotfixes under our belts, we acknowledge there's still much to do to enhance the GZW experience. We deeply appreciate your patience and continued support as we work to make the game the best it can be," Madfinger Games said. "We're diligently optimizing the game, and Patch 2 is just around the corner. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we are committed to addressing your concerns, nagging bugs, and QOL improvements. Soon, we'll reveal our roadmap for upcoming major content updates. Stay tuned!!"

That milestone of 900,000 units sold only accounts for the base version of the game as well. When it released in early access, Gray Zone Warfare launched with several different editions including options to upgrade to a higher tier of the game if you liked what you played. Madfinger Games said that in addition to having already sold 900,000 base units, Gray Zone Warfare players have bought over 475,000 DLC upgrades in the same month.

Madfinger Games did not give estimates on when Patch 2 and the roadmap will be available beyond them "coming soon."

New Star Wars Card Game Announced https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/new-star-wars-card-game-announced/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 14:38:00 +0000 Christian Hoffer aa3962ca-ff94-450a-8a6d-f76266258b04

Fantasy Flight Games has announced a new version of its Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game. This August, Fantasy Flight Games will release Clone Wars Edition of Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game, a new standalone version of its Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game released last year. The new edition will feature all new cards and will not require the original Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game to play. The two-player game will feature similar gameplay, with each player starting with a basic deck and expanding it by buying a mix of cards from their specific faction and neutral cards. The Clone Wars version will obviously focus on the Republic and Separatists, although the aim of the game remains the same with players trying to be the first to destroy three of their opponent's bases.

In an article announcing the game, Fantasy Flight revealed some details about the new game and how the various factions will work. The Republic cards focus on synergies between Jedi and Trooper units, while the separatists utilize a new version of "exiling" cards that remove cards that either sacrifice cards to gain various effects or pull cards from an exile pile and put them back in play.

Fantasy Flight first released its Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game earlier this year as a standalone, contained experience. The game publisher also released Star Wars Unlimited, a collectable trading card game with a handful of similar mechanics (such as targeting an opponent's base to win the game) but very different deck construction rules and deck strategies. Fantasy Flight has increasingly focused on card games in recent years, with Marvel Champions, Arkham Horror, and repackaged version of its Lord of the Rings card games all among its more recent products.

Lethal Company Comes to Fortnite https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/lethal-company-fortnite-item-shop/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 14:16:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon a2938551-c169-45ad-aced-d4f0a983328f

Add another crossover to Fortnite's ever-expanding collection of collabs now that Lethal Company has joined the game. The breakout hit where you play as a contractor scavenging for resources on dangerous moons is now in Fortnite via a skin that features the protective suit players wear in their Lethal Company explorations as well as some other Item Shop additions like an emote also pulled straight from Lethal Company. The crossover is live in the Item Shop now with the typical bundle option available for Lethal Company fans who want to get everything all at once.

The Lethal Company skin that serves as the highlight of this crossover can be seen below, an outfit that should look pretty familiar to Fortnite players if they've been keeping up with new games on socials over the past few months. Even if you haven't played Lethal Company before, you've most likely seen the orange and black hazmat-like suit in videos of players yelling as they ran away from whatever threats they found on these abandoned moons while hunting down precious (and sometimes worthless) materials.

In addition to the main Lethal Company skin that's called "The Employee" and costs 1,500 V-Bucks, the rest of the Lethal Company crossover is made up of the Stop Sign pickaxe which costs 800 V-Bucks and the Company Jig dance that costs 400 V-Bucks. The whole bundle costs 2,100 V-Bucks, a pretty low price for all three cosmetics which explains why lobbies are already full of employees doing the Company Jig.

The Lethal Company crossover in Fortnite was datamined previously when the new season started with leakers unearthing these three cosmetics, but it wasn't known at the time when these would be added aside from Lethal Company creator Zeekerss teasing that the collab would be coming soon. Zeekerss is the solo developer working on Lethal Company which made the game's sudden success on Steam and Twitch and its ability to quickly spawn competitors like Content Warning that much more impressive. The most recent update the game got was the v50 update which released back in April.

Lethal Company's cosmetics will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop for the next week.

Dungeons & Dragons Reveals Alternate Art Cover for Dungeon Master's Guide https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/dungeons-dragons-alternate-art-cover-dungeon-masters-guide/ Sat, 01 Jun 2024 14:02:00 +0000 Christian Hoffer df5c67e1-5083-476b-8386-538a15b9b517

The new Dungeon Master's Guide for Dungeons & Dragons will feature a stunning alternate art cover by Olenna Richards. This week, Wizards of the Coast (via GamesRadar) revealed the alternate-art cover for the Dungeon Master's Guide that will be revealed this November as part of the 2024 Core Rulebook re-release. The cover, illustrated by Olenna Richards, shows Lolth wrapping a hapless adventurer in webs. As with the previously revealed Player's Handbook cover, the alternate-art cover will only be available at hobby stores. The standard cover, illustrated by Tyler Jacobson, was also revealed earlier this week. You can check out the alternate art cover down below:

lolth-cover.jpg
(Photo: Wizards of the Coast/Olenna Richards)

Lolth the Spider Queen is a demon lord and creator of the drow, an elven subrace known for their dark skin and white hair. Many drow worship Lolth and have adopted her twisted religion and beliefs, although recent changes to D&D canon have shown that other sects of the drow aren't aligned at all with the goddess. Notably, Lolth has not appeared as the primary antagonist in a Wizards of the Coast-published D&D adventure since the launch of 5th edition, although her presence is a plot point in the recently released Vecna: Eve of Ruin adventure.

The alternate art cover continues to paint a more serene and laid-back vibe compared to the standard covers, which showcase various characters in typical D&D action sequences. The covers showcase the intended depth of D&D's versatility - while the rules of the game focus on combat abilities and options, many players have opted to use the game primarily as a roleplaying tool to explore a variety of different story types.

The new Dungeon Master's Guide will be one of two "new" Core Rulebooks released for Dungeons & Dragons this year, along with the Player's Handbook. The Monster Manual, the third of D&D's core rulebooks will receive a revised version in early 2025. While all three books will continue to use Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules, many rules have been updated as part of the new edition. The Dungeon Master's Guide, for instance, has received a major reorganization to allow for easier onboarding of new DMs and gives more examples on how to run both D&D sessions and campaigns. A section on campaign worldbuilding has also been included in the book, featuring the classic world of Greyhawk as an example of how to build a world within a campaign.

The new Dungeon Master's Guide will be released on November 12, 2024.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Update Released, Here's What's New https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/senuas-saga-hellblade-2-update-patch-notes/ Fri, 31 May 2024 22:19:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 7e894a71-eee1-4d8e-bd36-a31b7c6b21c0

Senua's Saga: Hellbalde 2 is finally out after Hellblade fans have waited for years to play the Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice sequel, and now that it's playable on the Xbox and PC platforms, developer Ninja Theory has moved on to keeping it kept up with updates, bugifxes, and other improvements. The first of those post-launch updates has gone live now as of May 31st on the Steam platform with thankfully only a small handful of changes to speak of following a relatively tidy launch compared to the shape many new games release in.

As such, the patch notes for the first Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 update are pretty brief. You can find those notes in full below with the update now available to download:

Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Patch Notes

  • Added a warning prompt when selecting 'New Story' as this option resets the current save's story progress.
  • Fixed the large text size option, which was causing UI elements in chapter selection to go out of bounds.
  • Animation sync issues during some enemy executions in combat have been adjusted and fixed.
  • Adjusted the combat events during the Th?rgestr battle at the end of Chapter 1
  • Several localization fixes.
  • Tree collision fixes in Chapter 2 settlement puzzle.
  • Fixed the crash when closing photo mode after extended gameplay.
  • Fixed a few cases of memory leaks game-wide.
  • Ultrawide fix during Chapter 3 cinematic to prevent Fargr?mr from disappearing.
  • Indoor rain inside the broken house in Chapter 1 is fixed.
  • Ghosting issues fixed when running Frame Generation.
  • Added missing SFX during Chapter 3 puzzle and Chapter 4 combat
  • Fixed missing captions in several areas across the game.
  • Missing facial animations in Chapter 5 cinematic after village battle.
  • Misaligned peach fuzz around Senua's neck and face has been corrected.
  • Go?i combat crowd push events have been adjusted for a better combat experience.
  • Improved FSR3 artefacts.
  • Fixed the case of some animated objects were invisible during gameplay.
  • Fixed instances of black marks appearing on faces around beards and fine hairs on Low preset.

Our own review of Hellblade 2 mirrored sentiments shared elsewhere which acknowledged that the combat in the game could be better, but the immersion through audio alone is unmatched. You can check out our full review here.

Little Nightmares 3 Delayed to 2025 https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/little-nightmares-3-delayed-2025/ Fri, 31 May 2024 20:27:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 460d9858-6c4d-482f-a6ce-7b134bbf08b0

Little Nightmares 3 will not longer be releasing in 2024 and has instead been pushed back to next year, Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games announced this week. This delay comes just under a year after the game was first announced in 2023 during Gamescom with Bandai Namco confirming then that Supermassive Games would be taking over the next installment in the series as opposed to Tarsier Studios developing it. No specific release date for the game was announced beyond the 2025 window.

The delay of Little Nightmares 3 was attributed to quality concerns with Supermassive and Bandai Namco conveying that they want to take more time on the game to ensure it meets standards. Little Nightmare fans won't have to wait until next year to see more on the game, however, with the Little Nightmare 3 creators promising more to be revealed in the summer.

"Ever since the announcement of Little Nightmares III at gamescom last year, we've been thrilled to see our community buzzing with excitement and anticipation," the announcement shared today began.

"The teams at Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Europe have been working hard towards delivering the best experience possible for the next entry in the franchise," the announcement said. "As much as we can't wait for you to return to the Nowhere, we also want to make sure we give the game the care and love it deserves. Quality is a top priority for us, and we know you feel the same way. For that reason, we've made the decision to shift the release of the game to 2025. We'll be sharing more about Little Nightmares III later this summer, so pleas bear with us and look forward to further updates. In the meantime, we'd like to thank you for your patience and ongoing support."

Given that this is the first Little Nightmares game that Supermassive has made and how it's different from the usual sorts of games the developer makes, it's not unreasonable to think that a bit more time would be needed to mesh what fans are looking for with what their vision for the game looks like. Supermassive is best known for games like Until Dawn and The Quarry as well as the games that make up the Dark Pictures Anthology.

Little Nightmares 3 will be out at some point next year.

EA Sports FC 24: Best Players for Ultimate TOTS Glow Up Evolution https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ea-sports-fc-24-best-players-ultimate-tots-glow-up-evolution-ps5-xbox-pc/ Fri, 31 May 2024 18:28:00 +0000 Ricky Frech af062abb-bc74-4617-a720-34eb545e02b9

On May 31, EA Sports FC 24 dropped its final team of the Team of the Season promo into Ultimate Team. After weeks of highlighting each league around the world, Ultimate TOTS brings everyone together, putting the best players from each league into one gigantic team full of top-tier players. Even if you're not lucky enough to pack an Ultimate TOTS player, Electronic Arts has you covered with a brand-new Evolution. The Ultimate TOTS Glow Up lets players take a low-rated player and boost them into the 90s. It's a powerful Evolution, so we've put together a breakdown of how it works and a list of the best players to use it on in EA Sports FC 24.

What is the EAFC 24 Ultimate TOTS Glow Up Evolution?

ea-sports-fc-24-lionel-messi.jpg
(Photo: EA Sports)

Fortunately, this Evolution is completely free. Even if there isn't a player you want to use it on in your lineup, you should still complete this for free fodder. Here are the requirements you'll need to keep in mind:

  • Max Overall: 70
  • Max Pace: 78
  • Max Dribbling: 74
  • Max Physical: 74
  • Max PlayStyles: 7
  • Max PlayStyles+: 0

Once you finish all of the Objectives, you'll earn +25 Overall, +20 Pace, +25 Shooting, +25 Dribbling, +24 Physical, +20 Passing, +20 Defending, +2 Skill Moves, +1 Weak Foot, the Intercept, Incisive Pass, and Tiki Taka PlayStyles, and the Rapid, First Touch, and Press Proven PlayStyles+.

The Best Players for the Ultimate TOTS Glow Up Evolution

Because the boosts from this Evolution are so massive, you can use just about anyone who fits the bill and turn them into a monster on the pitch. We'd recommend picking someone from your favorite team and having fun. That said, here are a few of our favorite options:

  • Alvaro Fernandez - Manchester United
  • Julio Cesar Enciso - Brighton
  • Jony - Latium (Lazio)
  • Artem Dovbyk - Girona
  • Radu Draguin - Spurs

Before jumping into the players above, it's important to note that Cole Palmer is one of the more popular players for this Evolution. We haven't included him because his TOTS card is a little better if you don't supplement it with further Evos. If you don't have those, you're better off saving up for his normal TOTS card.

There are plenty of other great options. Fernandez is a pacey wingback with top-end dribbling and the all-important 5-star/5-star Skill Moves and Weak Foot combo. Enciso can play on either wing or in the middle of the pitch. Like Fernandez, he's a speedy player with top dribbling but adds 95 shooting to the mix. Jony is a similar player, though his passing is slightly better, giving him more versatility on the wing.

While we didn't include Palmer in the list above because he has a normal TOTS, we are including Dovbyk despite him also having one. That's because his Evolution TOTS is better than his normal card, making this a smart choice for La Liga users. Finally, Draguin is a good option if you want a ton of pace from your centerback.

EA Sports FC 24 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. The Ultimate TOTS Glow Up Evolution expires on June 28th.

Return to Silent Hill Movie Gets First Full Trailer https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/return-to-silent-hill-movie-trailer/ Fri, 31 May 2024 17:26:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 6cb61132-4fd2-4d0b-9076-b353187aab62

Following a behind-the-scenes look at the movie shared on Thursday and a preview before that which showed off our first look at the new version of Pyramid Head, Return to Silent Hill finally has its first full trailer. The trailer for the Silent Hill movie showed off even more of Pyramid Head (or Red Pyramid, if you prefer) as well as other characters like our protagonist, James Sunderland, during his search for Mary. The Silent Hill movie does not yet have a release date, but the trailer ends by saying that Return to Silent Hill is "coming soon."

You can find the trailer below now that it's been shared by the official Silent Hill accounts on Friday. For those who tuned into the Silent Hill transmission that aired on Thursday, you'll recall seeing some behind-the-scenes segments there that have made their way into this trailer to better show how all the pieces fit together. Based on what's been shown so far, people seem keen on the new movie, perhaps more so than they are on the remake of Silent Hill 2.

https://x.com/SilentHill/status/1796572353041965063It's unclear why this was not shown off during the Silent Hill transmission on Thursday which would've given it its very own space to be presented as opposed to just putting it out in the world the next day. But again, people seem pretty lukewarm on the Silent Hill 2 game that Bloober Team is handling which just got a release date yesterday, so perhaps Silent Hill will be back in favor again now that this trailer is out.

Return to Silent Hill is meant to adapt the events of Konami's Silent Hill 2 and has been a long time coming now with rumors of a new Silent Hill movie circulating for years. It's directed and produced by Christophe Gans, the same director responsible for the 2006 Silent Hill movie as well as 2014's Beauty and the Beast and more. It wrapped filming several months ago, and while it does not have an official synopsis yet to indicate anything might be changing, Silent Hill fans should expect it to closely follow the events of Silent Hill 2.

Return to Silent Hill does not yet have a release date beyond a broad release window of 2024, but we'll likely get one soon now that the first trailer is out.

EA Sports College Football 25: All Abilities Explained https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ea-sports-college-football-25-all-abilities-ps5-xbox/ Fri, 31 May 2024 17:13:00 +0000 Ricky Frech b5eba892-f198-4bd6-9cd9-ce9ed2264706

EA Sports College Football 25 is finally making its big comeback after over a decade of waiting. While developer Electronic Arts hasn't been actively working on the game all that time, the team has had a long time for new ideas to percolate that will help bring the old franchise into the modern era. One of the most notable new additions is the new Abilities system. EA Sports College Football 25 includes 80 new abilities, split between mental and physical. Players can have up to eight of them equipped at one time and they can be upgraded up to four times, giving the College Football 25 landscape plenty of variety. Toys for Bob Partners with Xbox for New Game https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/toys-for-bob-xbox-new-game/ Fri, 31 May 2024 16:16:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon 0f417380-362f-4a27-a2d5-e26948fc3cc6

Toys for Bob is working with Xbox to release the developer's next game, the studio and its new but familiar partner announced this week. Posts on socials from Toys for Bob confirmed that Xbox will be publishing the game, but the developer declined to offer any details just yet on what, exactly, it's working on. Toys for Bob is best known for working on games like the Spyro and Crash Bandicoot series, though because of recent events, it seems less likely that the studio will be returning to those franchises and will instead be working on something different.

The announcement from Toys for Bob as brief and acknowledged that whatever is being worked on right now, it's still very early in development, so Toys for Bob fans might have to wait awhile before they learn more about what's coming next.

"We're excited to announce that we'll be partnering with [Xbox] to publish our next new game," Toys for Bob said on Friday. "We're still very early in development, so you might not hear from us for a bit - but know that we're working hard on an experience we're so sooo inspired about! Can't wait to share more."

Developers partnering with publishers to get their games out the door is nothing new, but Toys for Bob's arrangement with Xbox is unique because of the studio's previous relationship with the company. While Toys for Bob did work on the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro games, those properties were owned by Activision which also included Toys for Bob as one of the many studios under its umbrella. Shortly after Toys for Bob was impacted by Activision layoffs once the gaming giant was acquired by Xbox, Toys for Bob announced that it was going independent and would no longer be part of Activision.

The studio said at the time, however, that it was still exploring a possible relationship with Xbox, so for those who see today's announcement as Toys for Bob being not so independent after all after breaking off this year, this deal with Xbox has been the plan since the beginning. People have speculated that Toys for Bob wished to go independent so as not to have to be part of the multi-developer Call of Duty machine which calls upon many Activision studios to develop new games, but that's just speculation at this point.

Manor Lords First Major Update Goes Live With Patch Notes https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/manor-lords-first-major-update-patch-notes/ Fri, 31 May 2024 16:11:00 +0000 Ricky Frech 62ad8599-6bb0-4711-a6bf-ad47587dc691

On May 21st, the developers at Slavic Magic released the first major update for Manor Lords in beta form. The developers wanted to make sure they ironed out any issues because this is the first major update for the hit medieval strategy game. Today, Slavic Magic has officially launched the update into the live version of Manor Lords and it's a doozy. In fact, the team suggests that players create a brand-new save to enjoy the new changes. That's not a big surprise for a game still in early access, but it will be frustrating for some players.

Fortunately, the changes are more than worth the time it takes to begin a new save. The team has touched almost every area of Manor Lords. Players will notice fixes for everything from archers dealing weak damage to characters drinking too much ale. One of the major areas that's been overhauled is trading and bartering. Traders can now carry more items and Slavic Magic has added more settings to better control which Regions are engaging in trade.

Below, you'll find the full patch notes for the new update. Manor Lords is available now on PC.

Manor Lords Update 0.7.972 Patch Notes

manor-lords.png

Hi everyone,

The first official Manor Lords patch (0.7.972) is ready.

If you have participated in the beta, remember to turn "betas" to "none" to access it.

Saves: We recommend you begin a new save to enjoy all the fixes and changes.

Mods: Please remove any mods you have before beginning a new save to ensure you can play without interference from an outdated mod.

Patch Overview

Here's an overview of some fixes and additions that were worked on during the beta testing:

  • The rate of Hildebolt's claims
  • The famous "None" people spawning in huge numbers and refusing to do any work
  • The clogged Trading Posts
  • The game being stuck at the summary screen after a victory / game over
  • Very weak archer damage
  • Inefficient sawpits, which also triggered "generic storage full" problem banners
  • Barter and trading got a lot of fixes, with on-foot traders now being able to carry 5 items per trip & a new Trading Post setting to only allow trade between the player controlled Regions
  • Overly high ale consumption
  • Problems with optimizations in large cities
  • Marketplace efficiency
  • Problems with farming, like crops erasing in the winter, inaccurate overlays & inefficient harvests
  • Too harsh oversupply/undersupply systems
  • People and/or livestock staying homeless even though there is living space in the settlement
  • Ability to add militia staying the same regardless of the order the player hires mercenaries and retinues
  • Sheepbreeding development branch spawning sheep too frequently
  • King's tax added
  • A toggle to allow market stall setup for certain families
  • Extra construction reserve UI, for instance reserving planks at the joiner's shop
  • Combat animation variety

Major Changes

The King's Tax (or Annual Royal Tax, name undecided):The tax is collected annually from all players (main player and AI) and goes to the liege. It is calculated per population, serving as a counterbalance for players hoarding huge wealth despite non-optimized economies.

Currently, players can incur debt without consequence. In the future, failure to pay will result in losing the king's favor and eventually facing the king's army as enemies.

Global/Local Trade Switch for Trading Posts:Players can now switch trade to "local only" in the trading post for each type of good, allowing them to exchange goods between their own regions while ignoring free merchants. Two trading posts (one in each region) are still required to make this function work. Employed traders will prioritize traveling to the location with the best prices to commence trade, potentially including regions owned by other Lords. The transport distance factor is reduced to make it more predictable for players where traders will go (to the place with the best price). Regional wealth is still required to exchange goods between regions with a trading post to maintain regions as independent economic units, simulating a more realistic economy.

Gameplay & Balance

Resource Management & Agricultural Adjustments

  • Food Consumption: People now pick a random food resource instead of eating food in a specific order.
  • Crop Fertility: Fertility is no longer drained after crop growth reaches 100%, making early harvest micromanagement less necessary. Yield may still increase over 100% growth if max yield is not reached.
  • Yield Cap: will now never increase past 100% growth to avoid confusion about exceeding 100%. Even when fertility reaches 0%, there will still be a small possible yield.
  • Harvesting Efficiency: When harvesting, crops are directly added to the field inventory instead of the villager inventory to reduce bottlenecks from harvesting walk times, especially for large fields.
  • Oxen Prioritization: Prioritized oxen plowing over transporting resources to the granary and warehouse to reduce oxen walking back and forth from the plowed field every time new resources are available for transport.
  • Plowing Shed: Plowing shed now adds 2 livestock worker slots.
  • Food Distribution: Food-producing residential plots no longer stock up on their produce before sharing with the marketplace.
  • Sawpit Log Storage: Increased sawpit log storage space to 5.

Economic & Trade Developments

  • Baron Region Claims: Lowered the rate of the Baron claiming regions and adjusted it to better reflect game settings.
  • Worker Camp Upgrade: Removed the worker camp upgrade intended for colony regions; it will be re-added when properly implemented.
  • Trade Route Establishment: When establishing a trade route, merchants no longer all spawn at the nearest trade point but are distributed to circle between various trade points.
  • Archer Damage: Archer damage increased from 4 to 13.
  • Trade Logistics Development: The "Trade Logistics" development branch now lowers the cost of new trade routes by 50% instead of clamping it at 25.
  • Trade Route Costs: Increased the base cost of opening a trade route from 12 to 20 (before the good value multiplier). Reverted the cost of opening new trade routes to linear scaling.
  • Market Oversupply: When the market is oversupplied, players can still export goods at a lower price. The price multiplier for oversupplied goods is now 0.75x for oversupplied and 0.5x for critically oversupplied.
  • Market Oversupply Rate: The rate at which the market becomes oversupplied no longer depends on the value of goods, ensuring equal rates for all good types.
  • Better Deals Development: The "Better Deals" development branch reduces the foreign import tariff by 50% instead of removing it completely.
  • Global Market Supply: Tuned global market supply to rebalance itself faster, aiming for a closer to one-year cycle if not trading.

Quality of Life & Infrastructure

  • Ale Consumption: Reduced ale consumption by 75% (approximately 1/3 per family per month).
  • Building Placement: Made building placement steepness limits harsher to prevent trading posts and churches from looking awkward on sharp slopes.
  • Soldier Approval Factor: Soldiers no longer trigger the "unburied bodies" approval factor when corpses are in their proximity.
  • Hitching Post: Hitching post is free again to reduce the chances of players getting stuck without an ox, hitching post, or the ability to order an ox.
  • Sheep Breeding: Capped sheep breeding to a maximum of 1 new lamb every 10 days.
  • Water Fetching: Villagers are now only allowed to fetch water from the well nearest to their home, except in case of a fire.
  • Maximum Yield per Plant: Increased the maximum yield per plant from 2 to 4 (Hunting Grounds policy still reduces it by half).
  • Plant Yield Rate: Plant yield rate reduced by half to encourage early harvest only in emergency mode.
  • Militia Squad Limit: The militia squad limit is now 6, regardless of whether the player has a retinue or mercenaries. This will be connected to a rank system in the future.
  • Fertility Regeneration: Doubled the fertility regeneration rate effect on fallow fields and from fertilization.
  • Plant Growth Rate: Adjusted crop growth to match crop rotation (to hit 100% at harvest as often as it can on auto).
  • Tree Growth Rate: Slowed down tree growth rate by around 30% to enhance forest management impact.
  • Trading Post Workers: Increased the carrying capacity of on-foot trading post workers from 1 to 5.
  • Royal Tax Calculation: Royal tax is calculated as follows: No tax for the first 5 years, 1 Treasury per citizen after 5 years, 2 Treasury per citizen after 10 years, 3 Treasury per citizen after 15 years.
  • Granary and Storehouse Worker Slots: Adjusted Granary and Storehouse Worker Slots: unified to 3 families for level 1 and 6 families for level 2.

Minor Fixes

Trade and Market Adjustments

  • Mindfulness System: Applied the "mindfulness" system to free merchants to reduce clumps and traffic jams.
  • Trade Location: Moved the location of trades further off the map to ensure space for all trade wagons, even if the trading post is placed on the map edge.
  • Trader Transactions: Allowed traders to make transactions without entering the shed if the trading post is clogged, as long as they are within the general building bounds.
  • Marketplace Logistics: Improved marketplace logistics efficiency and optimization.
  • Market Supply Reset: Reset market supply on loading old saves (from builds 0.7.954-0.7.956) due to mismatched global market supply stock values.
  • Market Stall Workers: Capped the number of workers supplying a single market stall to 2 to reduce market clogs with the increased market supply frequency. The number of stalls is now reduced back to the number of families divided by 5, with a minimum of 1 to ensure functionality in towns with fewer than 5 families.
  • Market Supply Optimization: Further optimized market supply functions for smoother late-game town performance.
  • Trading Post Thumbnail: Added the missing trading post building thumbnail.
  • Trading Post Price Range: Trading posts now display a price range for imports, indicating whether they can buy from other regions or foreign trade sources.

Optimization and Performance

  • Default AA: Changed default AA under DX11 to TAA.
  • Spatialization Update: Added a spatialization update call for recruits teleported home when rallied to ensure proper collision calculations.
  • Follow Mode Optimization: Updated "is close to camera" value in follow mode to prevent optimization of animations or sound effects for characters near the camera.
  • Firefighting Behavior: Made firefighting villagers ignore anti-clogging behavior at narrow pathfinding points.
  • Pathfinding Updates: Minor unit in-town pathfinding updates.
  • Destructible System: Swapped the old UE4 destructible system for a new UE5-friendly chaos-based debris system currently used for chopped firewood cutter logs.
  • AA/Upscaler Selection: Tweaked default AA/upscaler selection during first-time launch for specific GPUs (e.g., RTX properly defaulting to DLSS).
  • Pathfinding Thread: Added another pathfinding thread for handling multiple end-game cities.
  • Harvest Prediction Optimization: Optimized harvest prediction and fertility changes to reduce stutter.
  • Log Display: Limited the log display to store only the last 100 entries to improve UI optimization.
  • Idle Task Optimization: Optimized the function for finding friends to do idle tasks like conversations.
  • Door Opening Animations: Optimized door opening animations.

User Interface and Accessibility

  • Mourning Period UI: The residential panel now has a "mourning period left" UI element that displays the number of days of mourning until the burgage plot can bring in more family members.
  • Mourning Icon: Added mourning icon to the building floater.
  • Save Restrictions: Disabled the ability to quick save during the game over/victory cinematic. Disabled manual save after being defeated and added a tooltip explaining why saves are disabled. Disabled quick save and autosave if the game was lost.
  • King's Tax Rate Multiplier: Added king's tax rate multiplier to the game setup settings.
  • Victory Camera: After continuing the game after a victory, the camera returns to the player's main region instead of levitating over the map edge.
  • Currency Icon: Unified the currency icon in the mercenary company panel to clarify payment with the treasury, not regional wealth.
  • Accommodation for Homeless: Added an accommodation call for homeless people after a fire, ensuring they are quickly re-assigned to available burgage plots.
  • Family List UI: Aligned "workplace/reassign" buttons vertically in the family list due to most families having more than one member.
  • Font Fix: Fixed old fonts being used in the family entry widgets.
  • Fertility Overlay: Made fertility overlay colors and colorblind symbols more accurate with the percentages displayed in the field's building panel.
  • Building Panel UI: Tweaked building panel header buttons/toggles to improve readability and distinguish buttons from toggles.
  • Market Stalls: Set "Allow market stalls" to ON by default for all workplaces and artisan workshops to aid new players in setting up stalls without confusion.
  • Popup Queue: To avoid popups like "royal tax increase" from interrupting visit mode, they are now queued and triggered after the player returns from visit mode, after around 1-2 seconds.
  • Transaction Popup: When trading between regions, the transaction popup will now display over both trade buildings, depending on which is closer to the camera.
  • Region Borders: Region borders will show under the cursor even if the camera is low, clarifying where region territory ends.
  • Region Calculation for UI: Tuned how "current region" is calculated for the UI to make it more comfortable to build on the edge between two player-owned regions.

Crash Fixes

  • Fixed a crash when doing a sequence of livestock import, export, and import because "home" wasn't cleared properly during export, and the same animal was reimported.
  • Fixed a rare crash if a handcart fails to spawn, likely if the trading post was built so that part of it crosses the map edge.
  • Fixed crash on startup if OpenXr SDK is installed.
  • Fixed a crash when deleting a building if there are pathfinding obstacles being verified (for instance, soon after loading a game).
  • Fixed the player being able to reassign a family to another Region, which could crash the game.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed crops dying in the winter instead of actually increasing yield by absorbing nutrients from the snow as intended for winter crops.
  • Fixed oxen sometimes "ghost plowing" a field when they are waiting for their guide.

  • Fixed the trading post export transactions not moving regional wealth between the regions correctly if owned by the same lord.
  • Fixed paused taverns fulfilling the entertainment requirement.
  • Fixed attempt for never-ending fires if a fire was triggered after the building was already on fire.
  • Fixed livestock sometimes being unaccommodated after order even though there is stable or pasture space due to being transferred to the region twice (once when buying and once when livestock merchant brings it to the building).
  • Fixed livestock traders traded between on-map regions, possibly sometimes paying twice because the ownership changing function was called both on pickup of livestock and on dropoff.
  • Fixed the game getting stuck on the game summary screen infinitely after winning or losing the game.
  • Fixed "none" people populating the town after a raid sometimes who just stand around waiting forever and possibly crash the game while reloading.
  • Fixed the employed traders going to trade points even though the trade route for the traded good is not opened yet.
  • Fixed the farm workers moving to transport tasks early even though there is still plenty of crops to harvest.
  • Fixed predicted yield not showing correctly in the field building panel.
  • Fixed people not resetting rotation after dismounting.

  • Fixed attempt for oxen bringing too many logs to the sawpit and crossing the storage limit.
  • Fixed free merchants sometimes got stuck if a trading post was built so close to the edge that a portion of it was outside of any region bounds.
  • Fixed horse wagon rotations getting a bit too wonky on slopes.
  • Fixed a bug where a unit could no longer move due to being forever stuck in "waiting for pathfinding to finish" if another unit with a lower squadID got completely destroyed.
  • Fixed traders not importing from on-map regions even though the price is better than buying from trade points.
  • Fixed farm workers & farm oxen stealing planks from fields which are getting "fenced up."
  • Fixed "homeless" problem banner not disappearing after upgrading homeless camp to a worker camp.
  • Fixed animals not getting removed from stable space / pasture space after death.
  • Fixed animal corpses not disappearing over time.
  • Fixed a dirty fix for families moving into homes but not registering correctly and not displaying in the UI, leading to a "secret" family living in one of the burgage plots. The reason is still unknown and being investigated.

  • Fixed bartering traders always return 1 item regardless of the barter value and carrying capacity.
  • Fixed bartering traders packing too much stuff in their origin region when barter value is more than 1x.
  • Fixed trading post exports not proceeding with transactions once the trader reaches the destination.
  • Fixed multiple markets sometimes distributing multiple instances of the same good type to a plot, for instance, a single plot would "eat" 2 leather, leaving houses on the outskirts forever undersupplied.
  • Fixed crop rotation to fallow causing farmers to harvest itemID_0, which was invisible in the UI and stopped supply dumps from being cleared because they were never considered as fully empty.
  • Fixed farmers getting stuck in pickup-putdown handcart loop when multiple farms are used.
  • Fixed unnecessary harvest data recalculations triggering in the winters.
  • Fixed a bug with trading between regions where during selling items the wrong region would pay for the transaction.

  • Fixed traders doing "major trades" even without an established trade route.

  • Fixed a bug with workers not setting up market stalls if there are less than 5 families in the settlement.
  • Fixed squad icons disappearing/flickering when disbanding certain squads.

EA Sports College Football 25 Gives Fans a Massive Gameplay Deep Dive https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/ea-sports-college-football-25-gameplay-deep-dive/ Fri, 31 May 2024 15:00:00 +0000 Ricky Frech 614e9e30-ae3f-4e0d-a01a-c18639c3cf44

After over a decade of waiting, college football fans will finally get a new game from EA Sports this July. EA Sports College Football 25 revealed its cover athletes a few weeks ago and gave fans a small sample of what to expect when the game launches later this year. However, the College Football 25 has dropped a massive new update today, giving players an in-depth look at gameplay. With this being the first game in such a long time, there is a truckload of changes coming to College Football 25, so strap in.

College Football 25 Gameplay Updates

One of the things EA continues to tout about College Football 25 is that gameplay will feel much faster. After all, the gap between the elite players in the sport and an everyday starter is much wider than it is in the NFL. Five-star athletes playing at Alabama and USC are going to blaze past two-star recruits from Kennesaw State. It's the reality of the sport and EA is trying to replicate that by making the game feel "wide open." We'll have to wait until we get hands-on to know for sure, but the early previews have been saying similar things to the press releases.

Taking it one step further, the team is introducing the Wear and Tear system. Essentially, this is a new damage system that replicates the grind of a football game. It's more than the traditional stamina system because each limb and body part has its own rating. So, if your quarterback throws the ball 40 times in a game, their accuracy and throw power might go down in the following game. Careful management of your squad should ensure that your best players are healthy when it really counts.

While College Football 25 doesn't include the X-Factors players see in modern Madden games, the team is implementing 80 new abilities. These have a further four tiers a player can progress through, letting the team better differentiate one player from another. If you've played an NBA 2K game, this system seems similar to the Badge system in that game. The system extends to coaches in Dynasty mode, though the team isn't sharing details on that marquee mode yet.

The College Football 25 team has also implemented updates for passing and running the option to give players more control and has overhauled playing switching on defense. The latter has been a massive issue in Madden over the last several years, so hopefully this switch finally fixes things. There really is a ton to look through, so make sure to check out the official blog if you're interested in hopping into the nitty-gritty.

EA Sports College Football 25 will get further mode updates later this summer. Remember, the game finally returns on July 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, though players who get one of the deluxe editions can jump in a few days early.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater May Release in 2025 https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/metal-gear-solid-delta-snake-eater-2025/ Fri, 31 May 2024 14:17:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon a4be0975-c0ed-4f89-8a8a-f08e59c6a673

The new Metal Gear game from Konami called Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was supposedly set to release at some point this year, but according to a new report, it might not be out until 2025. The report in question references a retailer's listed release date for the game which is obviously a placeholder given that it has the game coming out on December 31, 2025, but the fact that the placeholder has it at in 2025 instead of the equally effective placeholder of 2024 suggests that the game might not be planned for this year at all.

Established leaker billbil-kun reported on the supposed release year for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater via Dealabs. Again, placeholder dates are often used, and while billbil-kun said they were unable to confirm the release plans for the new Metal Gear game at this time, their track record on unannounced releases, giveaways, and more is strong enough to suggest that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater might not actually be releasing this year.

Expanding on that report, the same outlet said that a new announcement is imminent with Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater news supposedly set to be shared within the next 10 days. That would put us right within the window of the Summer Game Fest events that are taking place soon, so again, it's not difficult to subscribe to a guess that we'll be hearing more about this Metal Gear game soon.

It was also suggested that the base version of the game will be sold at $69.99 which seems to be the norm nowadays, so no surprises there. There's supposedly going to be a Collector's Edition as well, though it's unclear at this time what'll be in it.

So far, we've only seen Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater shown off a handle of times, and the only indication we had that it'd be out in 2024 was a video from PlayStation talking about highly anticipated games for the year. Konami hasn't put any kind of a release window on it, but it has offered this about the game as a preview:

"Rival nations are secretly developing weapons that could threaten the future of mankind. Deep in the jungle, an elite soldier must combine stealth with survival to infiltrate the enemy and stop a weapon of mass destruction from triggering the largest full-scale war the world has ever seen."

Destiny 2 Announces Dungeons & Dragons Crossover https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/destiny-2-announces-dungeons-dragons-crossover/ Fri, 31 May 2024 01:54:00 +0000 Ricky Frech 3e19d97f-6edf-469a-923b-6f51bcd40422

Over the last several months, the developers at Bungie have shown more than a passing interest in adding new crossovers to Destiny 2. Players have seen everything from The Witcher to Ghostbusters content in their shooter. The move to move to a Fortnite approach to crossovers has been fun to see, and it's continuing with the latest reveal. Bungie revealed that a new Dungeons and Dragons crossover is coming to Destiny 2. The collaboration comes to the game next week alongside the new The Final Shape expansion. It's safe to say that next week will be an exciting time for Destiny 2 fans.

Destiny 2 x Dungeons and Dragons Crossover

As you can see in the trailer above, the upcoming Destiny 2 x Dungeons and Dragons crossover features "Faer?n-inspired armor ornaments for every class." That means Warlocks are getting the Flayer's Dominion set, Titans can pick up the Apex Draconic set, and Hunters can get the Spectral Displacer set. Of the three, the Flayer's set is best-looking in our eyes, though you can't go wrong with any of them.

On top of the character skins, players can pick up the Adventurer's Pack bundle. It includes a Queen of Dragons ship, the Owlbear Chariot Sparrow, and the Eye Tyrant Ghost shell. Again, our favorite amongst these crossover items is the Owlbear Chariot, but all three would be great additions to any cosmetic lineup for Dungeons and Dragons fans, making them a great addition to The Final Shape.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Release Date

As mentioned, Destiny 2: The Final Shape launches next week. To be specific, the new DLC comes to PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms on June 4th. The Final Shape is meant to be the end of Destiny 2's first major story saga. The Light and Darkness saga has been happening for seven years, making this a major milestone for Bungie. Alongside the saga finale, the new expansion features new super abilities for each subclass and the brand-new Prismatic subclass. Unlike previous expansions, Year 7 will not be divided into four seasonal content updates. Instead, Bungie is splitting it into three acts: Echoes, Revenant, and Heresay. Echoes will kick off the week after the expansion launches and the next two episodes will tentatively follow in October 2024 and February 2025.

Destiny 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

Monster Hunter Wilds' State of Play Trailer Reveals New Gameplay Details https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/monster-hunter-wilds-state-of-play-trailer-gameplay-ps5-pc/ Thu, 30 May 2024 23:12:00 +0000 Ricky Frech 1d7ecfdd-0499-4541-a140-cc43540a7d8a

Today's PlayStation State of Play was filled with new trailers and announcements for upcoming games like Concord and Silent Hill 2. However, the trailer that likely stole the show for many was the new footage we saw from Monster Hunter Wilds. While the game isn't due out anytime soon, seeing it in action is sure to whet the appetite of fans who have been dying to see what the team at Capcom does with the massively popular franchise next. In this new Monster Hunter Wilds trailer, those fans got to see the game in action, while also getting a few story nuggets to keep their interest piqued.

Monster Hunter Wilds Gameplay Trailer

As you can see in the trailer above, this is much more cinematic gameplay than you'd expect from a deep dive. That said, it's not a full CGI trailer either. Instead, the team has pulled back the UI and given us a glance at what Monster Hunter Wilds looks like in motion. We see the player character fighting massive monsters in melee and ranged combat. There's even a section where they're fighting from the back of their mount. Long-time fans will note many of their favorite weapons showing up in this trailer because Wilds is bringing back all 14 iconic pieces of gear.

However, don't expect each armament to function exactly as it did in the past. Instead, the team is adding new actions for every weapon. You can actually see this in action with both the Great Sword and Heavy Bowgun, though the team will share more in-depth rundowns of each weapon in the future. We also got to learn about the new Focus Mode, which is a new way for players to slow the action down, making it more accessible to new players. Plus, there was a quick look at the new Hook Slinger, which you'll use to collect items from a distance.

The team shared a few story details as well. We know that Monster Hunter Wilds takes place in the Forbidden Lands, a massive area that the Guild has never explored. You play as a Hunter sent to help explore the untamed wilderness and will have your trusty Palico at your side. The trailer also introduced us to a few other support characters you'll get to know as you make your way through the Forbidden Lands.

Unfortunately, the new trailer did not reveal a release date. We know that Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch at some point in 2025, but Capcom hasn't narrowed it down any further than that. When it does launch next year, fans will be able to pick it up on PlayStation 5 and PC.

Marvel Rivals PS5 Release Announced https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/marvel-rivals-ps5-release-beta-announced/ Thu, 30 May 2024 23:02:00 +0000 Logan Moore 7f4a4812-cab7-4167-8289-cd04f009b732

Update: NetEase has now revealed that Marvel Rivals will also be coming to Xbox Series X/S. The original story can be found below.

--

NetEase Games has announced that its new multiplayer game, Marvel Rivals, will be coming to PlayStation 5. Upon its first reveal earlier this year, NetEase said that Marvel Rivals would only be coming to PC initially. As expected, many across PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms soon began making it known that they'd like to see the Marvel multiplayer game come to their own hardware of choice. Now, NetEase has made it known that it will be making good on those requests, but only for a single avenue.

Revealed during PlayStation's new State of Play event, Marvel Rivals was confirmed for PS5 platforms. NetEase shared that it would be holding a new Closed Beta for the game in a little over a month in July, although its full launch wasn't yet detailed. In addition, it was verified that a PS5-exclusive Scarlet Spider skin would be given to Spider-Man in-game. Details on how this would be unlockable weren't provided, though.

"Marvel Rivals is a Super Hero Team-Based PVP Shooter," says the game's official description. "Assemble an all-star Marvel squad, devise countless strategies by combining powers to form unique Team-Up skills and fight in destructible, ever-changing battlefields across the continually evolving Marvel universe! Choose from a vast array of fan-favorite and cult-classic Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains from across the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, X-Men, and many more from across the Marvel Multiverse."

As mentioned, Marvel Rivals doesn't yet have a release date as NetEase is still in the beta phase for the title. Additionally, versions of the game for Xbox and Nintendo Switch have yet to be announced in any capacity. Given that a PS5 edition is now known to be happening, it will surely only strengthen calls for the title to come to other hardware. Whether or not this ends up happening remains to be seen, but we should start to learn a whole lot more about Marvel Rivals and its launch from NetEase Games as 2024 continues to progress.

Dungeons & Dragons TV Series Not Moving Forward at Paramount+ https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/dungeons-dragons-tv-series-not-moving-forward-at-paramount/ Thu, 30 May 2024 22:55:00 +0000 Christian Hoffer 396aca8e-edbc-4f1b-97db-bb66e90978d2

Paramount+ is not moving forward with a planned 8-episode Dungeons & Dragons television series. Deadline reports that the Paramount+ streaming service has scrapped a planned Dungeons & Dragons television series nearly a year and a half after first announcing plans for the show. However, Hasbro still plans to develop a television show, with Deadline reporting that the television show will undergo a "creative update" before being shopped to other buyers. Hasbro's in-house Hasbro Entertainment will be guiding the series, following Hasbro's sale of eOne late last year. [Note, Paramount also owns ComicBook.]

According to Deadline, the "creative update" will include a new creative team. While Rawson Marshall Thurber was set to direct the pilot episode and direct the first episode, he and executive producer Drew Crevello will assumably no longer be involved with the series.

Details on the Dungeons & Dragons television show were light, although the show was to be set in the Forgotten Realms, the home of both Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and the hit video game Baldur's Gate 3. Unfortunately, progress on the TV series went silent after Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves underperformed at the box office, although Paramount head Brian Robbins had said that a sequel to the movie could happen if costs could be controlled. Additionally, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks said in February that they were still working on a Dungeons & Dragons television series with Paramount named as the partner and platform.

While the Dungeons & Dragons television show is paused for now, the larger D&D brand is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a slate of crossovers and new books. In addition to new revised Core Rulebooks that updates the actual rules of the game, Dungeons & Dragons released crossovers with LEGO and Converse and also will release a collaboration with Destiny 2 next week. An off-Broadway theatrical experience featuring Dungeons & Dragons is also underway.

New Astro Bot Game Announced by PlayStation With Release Date https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/astro-bot-ps5-game-new-release-date/ Thu, 30 May 2024 22:43:00 +0000 Tanner Dedmon b4722d09-bc1f-415d-bff5-cfc62f7b8ddb

PlayStation and one of its first-party developers, Team Asobi, confirmed this week during PlayStation's State of Play event that a new Astro Bot game is coming to the PlayStation 5. It's simply called Astro Bot and is set to release on PS5 later this year on September 6, 2024. The reveal of this game follows some rumors and speculations that a new Astro Bot game would be announced during the State of Play event. So while it's a welcome announcement for Team Asobi fans, it's not a wholly unexpected one.

For those who've been following Team Asobi's contributions to PlayStation's first-party games over the past two consoles, it also shouldn't be surprising at all to see that the developer has stuck with Astro Bot again. The Astro Bot games are quite meta compared to most other first-party games in that they directly incorporate elements from PlayStation itself such as the use and on-screen appearance of things like the DualSense controller for the PS5, so Astro Bot and Team Asobi are about as first-party as it gets.

Most often, these games are meant to showcase hardware that PlayStation has come out with recently. In 2018, Astro Bot: Rescue Mission showed off what the PlayStation VR could do as players followed Astro and his companions on missions through virtual reality. Two years later, we got Astro's Playroom in 2020 which was free for everyone who had a PlayStation 5 and made for the perfect way to showcase what the DualSense and its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers could do. To that end, this new Astro Bot game from Team Asobi is technically the first that isn't tied to a specific event or reason for existing, so it'll be interesting to see then what Team Asobi has done with it.

Prior to this game's reveal, it was leaked as one of the 14 games that'd be showcased during the State of Play event. Some of those details shared beforehand included hints that the game would take place in a desert setting and that Astro would be accompanied by a robotic fox, though it was said at the time that the game would not offer PlayStation VR 2 support which some might've expected after the VR focus on Astro Bot: Rescue Mission.

Concord, New Multiplayer Shooter From PlayStation, Gets First Gameplay and Release Date https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/concord-multiplayer-shooter-playstation-first-gameplay-release-date-ps5/ Thu, 30 May 2024 22:37:00 +0000 Ricky Frech efa61bf6-db76-48b3-868e-fe558e611949

Today's PlayStation State of Play was full of new announcements and reveals. Many of these projects are still relatively far away, but one major announcement was that PlayStation's upcoming hero shooter Concord is coming very soon. We also hadn't seen the game in action before this showcase. Fortunately, the developers at Firewalk Studio revealed an extended CGI trailer showing off several of the characters you'll get to play as and a chunky teaser of what gameplay will look like when Concord ships later this year. Of course, the hero shooter space has gotten crowded over the last several years, so it will take some work for Concord to stand out from the crowd.

Concord Release Date

As mentioned, Concord is getting a beta on PlayStation 5 and PC before it hits its full release. The developers didn't reveal the exact date but said the beta will launch in July. Most likely, we'll hear more about what to expect next month as the team preps for the beta period. Either way, players won't have to wait much longer after the beta drops, because Concord is currently scheduled to release on August 23rd.

Of course, development is never a straight line and that date could move around. After all, we've seen other shooters like XDefiant struggle to get out the door for one reason or the other. That doesn't mean Concord is at risk of being delayed, but it's fair to say that the beta might reveal issues the team needs to fix before the game launches. Hopefully, it's not enough to push the release date back and players can jump in on August 23rd.

Concord Gameplay Reveal

The two-minute gameplay trailer for Concord didn't reveal too many specifics. If you've played games like Overwatch, you essentially know what to expect. The game will likely have mechanics to help differentiate itself from the crowd, but the developers are saving that deep dive for a later date. What is worth noting is the focus Firewalk is trying to put on story-telling. Each week, players will be treated to a new vignette featuring the characters from the game. These continuing stories will help build out the universe, creating a few fan favorites along the way.

Remember Concord is scheduled to launch on August 23rd on PlayStation 5 and PC, but will have a beta period in July.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Release Date Finally Announced https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/silent-hill-2-remake-release-date-ps5-pc/ Thu, 30 May 2024 22:34:00 +0000 Logan Moore 46ddce04-981b-4b31-b562-098c65c4d9a7

At long last, the release date for Konami and Bloober Team's remake of Silent Hill 2 has been announced. Originally revealed all the way back in fall 2022, news on this long-awaited survival-horror remake has taken a long time to come about. Outside of a brief new trailer that was shown in the past year, Bloober Team has continued to implore fans to be patient while waiting for the finished product. Luckily, we now know just how long is left to wait for Silent Hill 2 as the remake now has a specific launch date.

Announced in a new trailer as part of Sony's State of Play broadcast, Silent Hill 2 was revealed to be arriving on October 8, 2024. This latest trailer for the game happened to highlight more of the cutscenes and characters seen in the remake rather solely focusing on gameplay as the previous one did. To that end, this is perhaps the best video we've received so far when it comes to the tone and look that Bloober Team is going for with its remake.

You can watch this new trailer for yourself right here:

As we previously already knew, Silent Hill 2 is set to be a console exclusive for PlayStation 5, but it will also be coming to PC as well. Despite being an exclusive to PS5, this exclusivity is set to only last for one full year. After that time, Konami could feasibly choose to bring Silent Hill 2 to Xbox platforms, or even Nintendo Switch, too. Currently, no such plans of this type have been announced, but given that the Silent Hill franchise has a history on Xbox and Nintendo hardware, there's a good chance that Konami will explore this possibility.

Outside of Silent Hill 2, Konami happens to also be remaking another one of its most iconic games in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Dubbed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, this remake is currently in development at Virtuous and remains without a launch window of any sort. Given that the release plans for SH2 have finally been divulged, though, Konami might look to next shed more light on its revamped version of MGS3 in the weeks or months ahead.
